Angels & Demons:

Although the rumor mill buzzed about who might direct the follow-up (with Da Vinci helmer Ron Howard appearing to be the likeliest candidate), reports that Hanks "has been officially locked up" for Angels & Demons. The scooper claims that Angels will net Hanks the "biggest salary ever paid to an actor in the history of Hollywood." The studio paid Da Vinci screenwriter Akiva Goldsman a whopping sum to reprise scripting duties on Angels, which, like Da Vinci, is based on a novel by Dan Brown.

The Forbidden Kingdom:

Lionsgate has boarded martial-arts actioner “The Forbidden Kingdom,” which pairs Jackie Chan and Jet Li for the first time on the bigscreen. Indie studio is planning a September 2008 domestic release. Director Rob Minkoff (”The Lion King,” “Stuart Little”) is set to begin lensing the pic in China on May 2 from a script by John Fusco. Action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping, who has worked on films including “The Matrix” and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” is creating the fight sequences.

Saw IV:

The cast list for Lionsgate's Saw IV is growing extremely quick. This morning it was revealed that Lyriq Bent - who played Rigg in Saw III - is returning to action, while there's news last week that Scott Patterson (Gilmore Girls) is starring. Tobin Bell is signed on for six Saw films, so we know he'll be back, but who's next?! Justin Louis has joined the cast of SAW IV. Louis is best known to us genre fans as Luis, Sarah Polley's husband, in the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake. He can also be seen in SHOOTER, which is now in theaters.

The Mummy 3:

Universal has apparently been out searching for a lad to play the older version of Brendan Frasier and Rachel Weisz's son from the MUMMY films. If you remember back, the kid’s name is Alex O’ Connell, and Universal has allegedly found their man…or adolecent boy in the form of Alex Pettyfer. The character of Alex O’ Connell is supposed to be older now and ready to take over in his father’s footsteps. So the story of the next MUMMY film has that going for it along with the plot being set in ancient China where the Terra-Cotta Warriors will come into play. Jet Li is set to play the villain in the new movie.

Jurassic Park 4:

Laura Dern played one of the original Jurassic Park's main characters, but missed out on the second adventure and had only a minor appearance in Jurassic Park III. She may, however, be one of the key stars returning for the fourth tale in the series. According to rumors, Dern revealed she had spoken with producer Steven Spielberg over the phone and was being asked to join the cast for Jurassic Park IV.

I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry:

Adam Sandler ("Click") and Kevin James ("Hitch") team as two straight guys who stumble down the aisle with the best of intentions in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Chuck Ford (Sandler) and Larry Allensworth (James) are the pride of their fire station: two guy's guys always side-by-side and willing to do anything for each other. Salt-of-the-earth widower Larry wants just one thing: to protect his family. His buddy Chuck also wants one thing: to enjoy the single life.

Grateful Chuck owes Larry for saving his life in a fire, and Larry calls in that favor big time when civic red tape prevents him from naming his own two kids as his life insurance beneficiaries. All that Chuck has to do is claim to be Larry's domestic partner on some city forms. Easy. Nobody will ever know. But when an overzealous, spot-checking bureaucrat becomes suspicious, the new couple's arrangement becomes a citywide issue and goes from confidential to front-page news. Forced to improvise as love-struck newlyweds, Chuck and Larry must now fumble through a hilarious charade of domestic bliss under one roof. After surviving their mandatory honeymoon and dodging the threat of exposure, the well-intentioned con men discover that sticking together in your time of need is what truly makes a family.

Iron Man:

Last week it was confirmed that Shaun Toub ("Crash") would indeed play evil nemesis The Mandarin and now comes word that Leslie Bibb ("Talladega Nights") is also joining the cast. Bibb, known best for her cheerleader role on TV's "Popular" a few years back, will play an as-yet unnamed "fast-talking reporter" who will doubtless cross paths with Robert Downey Jr.'s billionaire hero, Tony Stark.

Your first solid look at "Iron Man" himself and it's a good, clear character shot of the famed suit of armor.

Bug:

A lonely waitress with a tragic past, Agnes rooms in a run-down motel, living in fear of her abusive, recently paroled ex-husband. But when Agnes begins a tentative romance with Peter, an eccentric, nervous drifter, she starts to feel hopeful again - until the first bugs arrive...

Probing the blurry lines between paranoia and nightmarish reality, Liongate's "Bug" is an intense, mind-bending psychological thriller in which nothing is quite as it seems. Directed by Academy Award® winner William Friedkin ("The French Connection," "The Exorcist") and adapted by Tracy Letts from his hit off-Broadway play, "Bug" stars Golden Globe nominee Ashley Judd, Harry Connick, Jr., Lynn Collins, Brían O'Byrne and Michael Shannon.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Recent gossip indicates that the voice of Galactus will be provided by an actor very well-known in science fiction circles. And that actor's name is... Laurence Fishburne.

The Mummy 3:

Brendan Fraser has scored a lucrative deal to return for a third "The Mummy" film, but Rachel Weisz is not coming back. Whilst amounts haven't been disclosed, Fraser is said to have scored a very hefty paycheck for the project which is set in China and introduces Jet Li as a villain. Weisz, who had been in talks, dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.

Indiana Jones 4:

Shia LaBeouf IS in the fourth "Indiana Jones" film after all. In a press release on the official site, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas have officially announced that the "Disturbia" and "Transformers" star has joined the project. LaBeouf was first linked a few weeks back, but denied the rumours in subsequent interviews - claiming that nothing was happening as far as he was aware. In a quote on the release he says "I was hoping the rumors were true, so I couldn't be more thrilled."

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Transformers director Michael Bay will reunite with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney on the big screen version of best-selling video game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The game is set in medieval Persia, Earth's mightiest and most mysterious kingdom, where a king and his son defeat the powerful Maharajah and kidnap his daughter, looting his palace of priceless treasure, including an extravagant hourglass, and a mysterious dagger.

Bay and Bruckheimer previously teamed on Bad Boys, The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and Bad Boys II. The studio is eyeing a summer 2009 release of "Prince of Persia."

Laurence Fishburne is Galactus in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

AICN reports that Laurence Fishburne will voice Galactus in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Fishburne’s powerful booming voice makes a perfect fit, atleast in theory. In the new film, the Fantastic Four will square off against the powerful Silver Surfer and the planet-eating Galactus. Galactus has consumed countless planets, resulting in the elimination of entire extra-terrestrial civilizations. The movie will hit theaters on June 15th 2007.
