Brian®
Superman Returns (SPOILERS) Superman Returns Story Details?? Our anonymous scooper who has provided us with two major scoops (Brandon Routh and Marlon Brando) has chimed in yet again with a bit of story details from SUPERMAN RETURNS! THIS MAY OR MY NOT HAPPEN, we can’t confirm this at this time. Here is what we are being told: SPOILERS AHEAD!!!! Highlight if you dare! While Superman has been gone on a 6 year round trip to Krypton to see if he is indeed the last son of that doomed planet, Lois Lane has moved on with her life. Lois Lane now has a five-year-old son and the father is no other than Richard White, played by James Marsden. When Superman returns Lois and Richard are engaged to be married. Also there will be at least two suits used in the film. The original classic costume and the other one will be (his space suit) for his journey back to Krypton that will have a strong resemblance to this image (on your right). Lastly I saw that you’ve posted the set pictures from Reuters. That crash scene in the Kent farm is when Superman crashes back home from his Krypton journey. Quote Link to comment
Brian®
Jor-El Has Been Cast...Well, Sort of!UPDATE: WE RECIVED NUMEROUS EMAILS FROM CLOSE SOURCES AND THIS IS NO LONGER A RUMOR BUT INDEED TRUE, MARLON BRANDO IS JOR-EL IN SUPERMAN RETURNS! A few weeks ago I heard there would not be an announcement regarding the casting of Jor-El because he had already been cast...a long time ago. A few names have been going around, including Brian Singer's favorite Patrick Stewart, but to date those have been only rumors. Bryan Singer has mentioned that he will use items that are familiar to the first two films such as the design of the Fortress of Solitude and of Krypton. He has also mentioned that he will use part of the very well known John Williams score. So who is Jor-El in Superman Returns you ask? Apparently, none other than Marlon Brando himself! Yes, yes we all know he is no longer with us so just how will this happen? As far as we can tell Brando will not be CGI, but Singer plans to use stock footage of Marlon Brando that was originally shot by "Superman" director Richard Donner. Considering that Jor-El's role in Superman Returns is very minor this might just work. Brando and Christopher Reeve were once filmed interacting with one another to be used in Superman II, (here's the deleted scene image on your left) but due to a lawsuit against the Salkinds for a percentage of the sequel, the scenes were deleted and re-shot using the mother (Susannah York) instead. Can this change? Yes of course all rumors do but it seems this is the way Singer wants to go. And if it's true you know where you heard or read it first! No official comment from Warner Bros. at this point. Filming begins this month in Australia. Edited March 18, 2005 by briannx Quote Link to comment

Brian®
Angel Gender-Bender? X3 rumor control. March 17, 2005 - Ain't It Cool News has broken the news about which new mutants will appear in X-Men 3. According to the site, Hank McCoy, a.k.a. Beast, will finally make it into the cast after being cut from X-Men and only having a cameo in X2: X-Men United. Gambit, that ragin' Cajun in a trenchcoat, is another fan fave that will be in the mix. The third and most shocking revelation was that the winged Angel "will be in the movie. But Angel ... will be a girl," claimed AICN. IGN FilmForce checked with its super-secret X3 insider who declared that "Angel is male!" We were advised that Angel (a.k.a. Warren Worthington III) will be a "major character" as will Beast. Beast will be seen in his transformed state and will be played by a different actor than Steve Bacic, who appeared as Hank McCoy in X2. Overall, our source confirmed the rest of the AICN report as accurate but emphasized that "Gambit is not a major character." While the ragin' Cajun enjoyed a relationship with Rogue in the comics, it's uncertain whether that will be a part of X3 in any way (or how any potential affair will sit with Rogue's current beau, Bobby "Iceman" Drake). IGN's source also revealed that Cyclops is still in the movie but not as a major character. They would not reveal anything more about his part but did confirm that Matthew Vaughn is indeed on-board to direct. Quote Link to comment
sickness
Ain't It Cool, who broke the news earlier this week that Matthew Vaughn (LAYER CAKE) would be directing X3 is back again today with more news from the third installment in the X-MEN trilogy. This time they're shedding some light on what new characters will be added to the film. Those who've followed the first and second X-MEN films shouldn't be surprised by the three characters they've added to the team but there is one sweeping change that should spark all kinds of debate. Beast, Gambit and Angel, each very close to having been involved in the two prior films, will finally get their moment on the big screen (and yes, smarty pantses out there, I know Henry "Beast" McCoy cameod but that doesn't count). AICN is reporting that the producers are looking at a big name to star as Gambit and (get this) a young girl to star as Angel. Yes, Angel will be a girl in X3. Now I know there will be a lot of X fans out there who'll be up in arms but I don't think it's necessarily an awful move. Sure, it deviates from X Universe canon but chances are Angel won't be a major character anyway so is it worth getting all persnickety about? Not really. And this is coming from a guy who loved Angel and the whole Archangel storyline when he lost his organic wings and had to have them replaced by the more sinister metallic ones. If they were going to tackle that storyline I'd be more pissed. But Angel doesn't seem to be the driving force of X3 (if anything Gambit will play a much larger role) so let's just wait and see what happens... Quote Link to comment
