Headroom
It would be much better if they can start with some sort of grassroot training for future Rugby players Rugby101 is back! Learn the basics of Rugby & meet new friends. PhilSports Pasig, 6-8pm tonight. Free of charge :-) Quote Link to comment
Headroom
its not for the mass Rugby is for everyone. It doesn't matter what size you are as there are different positions to suit body type. The only thing you need is a ball and you can practise passing and running anywhere. It's for men, women and children - either as a player or a spectator. The Philippines Women's team just beat Laos on the weekend in full tackle game of rugby. I'd bet the likes of Andrew Wolff and the rest of his Volcanoes can give Rugby a big boost in these shores (just as the Younghusbands did with local footie) Andrew (left) w/ Jon Avila (feel free to resize if too large) Looks like a pic taken at the Manila 10's Rugby Tournament which has been running for 23 years in the Philippines. mrl0ng
I live now in the rugby mad nation - New Zealand. The rugby world cup was held here last year. Yes, it will take time to develop this sport in RP. I hope we will start in the grass roots level rather than importing players. Just at look countries with smaller population compared to Philippines - Samoa, Fiji, Tonga and Wales. Rugby is their national sports. However, money is not that much on this sport unless you play in UK, France or Japan. I still believe that we can make an impact - probably start first in the Sevens games. Quote Link to comment
Headroom
wala ngang rugby arena sa atin. There are several fields in Manila, Clark and Cebu that are currently being used for Rugby. The field size is roughly the same as a Soccer field so there are plenty of places locally. Quote Link to comment

There is actually a PRFU Development Team in Brunei this weekend to play a game of 15's. All of the players are local Filipinos - very cool. Quote Link to comment

Iba pa rin ung sukat at markings sa soccer field. Quote Link to comment
