Ronnie James Jeremy
I was a member back in 2008 (same account name). Forgot my password and lost my account in 2015. As far as i can recall, several efforts were made to have a series of gatherings or eyeball events as they were called back then. Members were called GMs back then. Lots of diverse topics for discussion back then in the pre high speed internet era. I just got my first Macbook Pro back then and I was also very active in the MAC users forum --learned a lot there. There was still the KTV Philippines conglomeration of top establishments along the Avenue named after a Filipino President who also had a province named after him. Back then Buwaya Man was the fearless explorer into unknown territory, he would mount expeditions and report his findings as faithfully and as creatively as only he can with the dispatches also known as Field Reports. Those were the days. Although i never participated in these eyeball/meet ups, I was an active member and interacted through the forums especially the music forum where i was the most active and prolific. Just wanted to share. BTW, i DID meet with a few nice people in the old MTC. I wonder where they are now. IMHO , MTC was at the right place and at the right time and became the meeting place right when people got more and more adventurous in the mid 2000s. All of a sudden you hade emerging industries like the BPOs and Tech Support which economically empowered young people and bestowed upon them a certain amount of purchasing ability which in turn funded their adventures and experimentations. This could not have happened in the 90s without the influx of affordable cellular technology and high speed internet. IMHO these factors contributed greatly to the success in terms of membership of MTC in terms of connecting people, networking and communications. It was a lot simpler back then, you knew a bad politician from a worse one. Now it's like "what's the difference ?" Edited May 2, 2025 by Ronnie James Jeremy Quote Link to comment

bagsikdude
I remember joining around the year 2004. I've maintained the same username over all these years. However, I think my account was reset because I can't access anymore the more interesting forums. Nonetheless, I've learned and experienced a lot just by reading the posts during the heydays of MTC. It's good to be back Edited September 1, 2025 by bagsikdude spelling error Quote Link to comment
antiquorum
My first MTC account was in 2003 and I was part of the (in)famous Alcoholics Anonymous MTC subgroup. Our weekly hangout was 90 Proof Bar along Emerald Avenue in Ortigas Center. At that time I was a senior officer at a nearby Contact Center and I would meet up with the gang during my late evening breaks, have a beer or two then go back to work. We had regular parties in various venues and even organized a Boracay outing in 2005. Bizman would occasionally stroll over to our 90P gatherings. MTC in its first years had plenty of member interactions and the camaraderie was notable among a very diverse membership. Quote Link to comment

I think it was late 2003 when El Gimmikero wrote the article that came out in FHM that the board really exploded. True, and kudos to El Gimmikero! When i read his article, i immediately went online and opened this amazing rabbit hole of MTC. The only MTC event i ever attended was the eb at Starfleet. I can't remember if it was 2004 or 2005. There were a lotta peeps and it was quite an event. I didn't meet people cos i got too busy oggling the ladies. Tapos Pares sa baba after haha Things lulled for me around 2011...then i logged in probly once a year after...my last log-on was 2024 and saw that my account was reset and the member# has been taken out. Anyhow, it's nice reminiscin'...to MTC, live long and prosper! Quote Link to comment
