I was a member back in 2008 (same account name). Forgot my password and lost my account in 2015. As far as i can recall, several efforts were made to have a series of gatherings or eyeball events as they were called back then. Members were called GMs back then. Lots of diverse topics for discussion back then in the pre high speed internet era.  I just got my first Macbook Pro back then and I was also very active in the MAC users forum --learned a lot there. There was still the KTV Philippines conglomeration of top establishments along the Avenue named after a Filipino President who also had a province named after him. Back then Buwaya Man was the fearless explorer into unknown territory, he would mount expeditions and report his findings as faithfully and as creatively as only he can with the dispatches also known as Field Reports.  Those were the days. Although i never participated in these eyeball/meet ups, I was an active member and interacted through the forums especially the music forum where i was the most active and prolific.  Just wanted to share. BTW, i DID meet with a few nice people in the old MTC. I wonder where they are now.  IMHO , MTC was at the right place and at the right time and became the meeting place right when people got more and more adventurous in the mid 2000s. All of a sudden you hade emerging industries like the BPOs and Tech Support which economically empowered young people and bestowed upon them a certain amount of purchasing ability which in turn funded their adventures and experimentations.  This could not have happened in the 90s without the influx of affordable cellular technology and high speed internet. IMHO these factors contributed greatly to the success in terms of membership  of MTC in terms of connecting people, networking and communications. It was a lot simpler back then, you knew a bad politician from a worse one. Now it's like "what's the difference ?"
