We've beaten them last night by only 8 points (tinalo ito ng Indonesia, team na makakalaban ntin sa finals, by 16 points). After the game, parang ang Singapore team ang nanalo if you check on their faces and aura going out of the court...exactly...losing by only 8 points to the defending seag champs was already an achievement in itself by singapore. kahit na natalo sila, tuwang-tuwa pa din. who would ever think that our gilas cadets would be hard-pressed in getting the win over a nation whose no. 1 sport is not even basketball. imo, there will come a time in the future that our southeast asian neighbors will be at par with our basketball players given the all-out support being given by their respective governments. Gringo* Posted August 26, 2017 Share Posted August 26, 2017 I hope to be proven wrong but if it's still Chot who is gonna coach Gilas, we won't qualify. Our pros are at par with the best Asia can offer but it's the coaching that I detest. You're getting burned multiple times by the pick and roll of the other team and you still continue with a soft defense. Tab would have gotten us a bronze medal, at least in the recent FIBA-Asia. Marami for sure magagalit sa akin dito but I think oks naman si Chot Reyes as Head Coach..sana lang ma analyze nya yung nangyari sa Asia Cup tulad ng pare parehas nating analysis. Which kung tayo nga na hindi kasing galing nya mag coach ay we all agreed sa pagkakamali ng Gilas..Sya pa kaya!! We need to mold a future Bigs na Standhardinger style of play.. saka bigyan sila ng tig iisang ring at bola sa praktis para mahasa sa shooting. I think the goal now is to beat Australian team kc pag lumusot tayo dun..sure na tayo sa worldcup Quote Link to comment

torresicecube Posted August 28, 2017 Share Posted August 28, 2017 If you think Chot is a good head coach, that is your opinion but we saw in the Sokor game that he never did any adjustments against the pick and roll. Our defense against the pick and roll was laughable. Kung si Tab yan, dalawang basket pa lang na nakascore sa atin mga Korean gamit ang pick and roll, may adjustment na yan. Ewan ko ba at balik ng balik si Chot. Tab was already under contract with Gilas tapos eepal itong si Chot. Palit nalang sila ni Chot at Tab. Magcoach na lang si Chot ng Ateneo at si Tab ng Gilas. Actually ang naging problema lng ni Tab is mas inuna nya yng Ateneo kesa sa Gilas kaya sya pinalitan ni Chot..... Quote Link to comment

Sana lang talaga sa November hindi na si Chot ang coach at si Tab na. si coach Tab magaling sa adjustments and defense coach sya. Idagdag mo pa yung lawak ng kaalaman nya sa asian basketball kasama na Australia at NZ. and madami sya connections for scouting report Quote Link to comment
junix Posted August 28, 2017 Share Posted August 28, 2017 sabi ko nga dati si chot hahampasin ang kaliwang bahagi ng dibdib niya tapos sisigaw ng puso. dyan siya magaling tsk tsk tsk seriously though chot's coaching specially during the korea game was so pathetic. never did he make any adjustments during the game. clearly he was outcoached by the legendary hur jae. in the meantime, congrats to our gilas cadets. mission accomplished. obviously the cadets saved their best basketball for last. kobe, kiefer, rayray and the rest of the guys will be the future of philippine basketball kung........bahala na po kayo kung ano dapat ang kasunod hehehe Quote Link to comment
junix Posted August 28, 2017 Share Posted August 28, 2017 Exactly my point, chief. Si Chot, sirang plaka na yung motivational quotes niya. It is either "puso" or "Laban Pilipinas". Kung ganyan ng ganyan ang battle cry niya at walang adjustments, ibahin niya na lang ang battle cry niya. From "Laban Pilipinas" to "Talo Pilipinas". 😀😀😀👌👍 honestly i was totally dismayed on how he coached that game against korea. a total letdown for a national coach. i think chot was busy shouting "puso" and "laban pilipinas" that he forgot to make the adjustments during the game nyahaha 2 Quote Link to comment

Si Chot dapat nasa sidelines lang sa bench not as head coach. Well, sponsor kasi MVP so he has to get people from his organization. Quote Link to comment

Si Chot puro sigaw lang ng "puso" at "Laban Pilipinas". Someone should remind him that these words don't mean s@%t when Gilas can't execute and can't adjust. i agree. yung mga antics ni chot na yan doesn't mean a thing. it doesn't win ballgames. the true value of a coach or his best trait is his ability to adjust to on-game situations that would enable his team to win the ballgame. kaya nga nakaupo lang sa bench yan eh. tactician yan. if chot wants to motivate his players, pwede naman cheer leader yan tsk tsk tsk but for him to coach the national team? come on...give us a break. fiba asia or fiba world is not an inter-barangay league. we deserve the best players...the best team and the best coach for this. 1 Quote Link to comment
