junix
Sad to see him go...but jimmy is right ...we need to find someone to replace him...but someone not only with his skills but also his heart...the best definition of a captain...refusing to lose...in his own country( fiba asia 2013) ...and certainly not in the one of the biggest basketball tournaments in the world( fiba world 2014)...salute to the mighty mouse!!!!!Now who would be his best replacement...certainly not LA...i was hoping Lee..but it seems Lee is not that ready yet... there may be a few players in the pba now who could replace the captain..skills wise...pero yung puso, iba pa rin yung pinakita ni jimmy. i don't think there will ever be a player who could at least match mr. alapag's heart. on another front, had slaughter been included in the line-up instead of david, would it have been a factor having our own 7 footer? naitatanong lang naman 😊 Edited September 3, 2014 by junix Quote Link to comment
ian23
Paano yunh lineup kung nandun si slaughter? Sabay sila ni blatche? O salitan? Tingin ko kelangan pagaralan ni chot ung laro ng spain kasi sa kanila sabay ung gasol bros s starting lineup dba. Sana magawan ng paraan ni chot un para sa mga susunod n competition Quote Link to comment
junix
andray and greg or junmar and greg...pwede naman mapag-aralan ni chot yan kung ano ang maganda at kung ano ang uubrang kombinasyon. i hope chot, sbp and the pba can consider that in the future. the most important thing is for mvp to keep supporting gilas and for the program to continue what has been accomplished. good luck mamaya against puerto rico. LABAN PILIPINAS!!! Quote Link to comment
mastermind23
sana lang.. ipahiram ng SMC si slaugher,, at ng alaska si casio..tingin ko sila ung pwedeng ilagay sa future NT. Quote Link to comment
RED2018
As I see it, if we are to succeed in international games we need to have players who can shoot long 'threes' (free throws should be given na as counted). JV Casio and Marcio Lassiter fit that bill... You see, even Balkman admitted that athletic players won't guarantee wins; as he pointed out that Puerto Ricans are inherently more athletic than others in their region. Of course, we have to have a system that will be naturally be exhibited by the players- yung bang 'memorized' na even on different scenarios... Quote Link to comment
azraelmd
Slaughter might need more time in the PBA...he will be very slow in international competition now...just like junmar was last year...lassiter would be a very good future addition as well as casio..they both had stint with the toroman led gilas....alapag tenorio and david will likely be replaced...As for aguilar..im a big fan of his hehehe...however im still wondering whats wrong with that kid...after his big dunk on mahimi and one good showing in the tune up games...he is hardly a factor in these games..gifted with athletic abilities..and also some decent outside shooting including 3-pointers...now he seems like just goin with the plays...Anyway... 3 more hours and its balkman and barrea vs Gilas....Laban Gilas! PUSO!!!! Quote Link to comment
Larry
like I said the PR game is winnable. but they have to come out with the same intensity as the first 3 games, AND they have to stop Barea. With Arroyo out, a lot of PRs offense starts with Barea, stop him and you upset the flow. Senegal is going to be tough though. But we have to beat them if just to show the world that we are THE dark horse in this tournament and not those f#&kers. Quote Link to comment

thomassanders
We could have been 3-1 today if it wasn't for the rotation or for sheer luck. Gilas gave it all, pero all coming short in the end. Chot doesn't even use all his players (Including Junemar who is 2nd in PER. Wow.) but instead opted to use his "guys" to play kahit na nga ba bad shooting or bad game sila. Oh well. May Asian Games pa pero please, a good much more wiser and smarter coach is needed. We have the talent. Kayang makipag sabayan sa mundo pero we can really pull it off if we just have good and smart decisions not just by the players but by the Coaching staff. Disappointed and heartbroken today. Quote Link to comment
