ang alam lang ni chot eh sigawan yung mga players niya...hampasin yung dibdib niya at sumigaw ng "puso" nyahahaha bilib pa din ako kay coach tab.

mas gusto ko naman si chot kesa ke tab. nilalabas ni chot tunay na galing ng players unlike ke tab na ipinipilit sa sistema nya. 2weeks na kulang kulang na preparation for non bearing fiba asia cup ok lang. umpisa pa lang wala naman inaasahan talaga gusto lang nila kilatisin ang mga kalaban. wait natin ang tunay na tournament(fiba qualifier) sa Nov. ang daming pwedeng combination sa lineup ng gilas ngayon tinago lang ni chot binigyan nya lang ng idea ang mga players kung paanu mag react sa ibat ibang kalaban. tignan nyo naman miski ang mga assistant coach hindi na isinama sa lebanon sa fiba qualifier dun buhos na lahat.

 

gilas need marcio lasiter, paul lee, kiffer ravena and greg slaughter.

More pocket tournaments for Gilas as part of their preparation. Remember when Gilas was preparing for the Fiba worlds it really helps we could have won against Greece and that Scola led team if not for their end game lapses

The many time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo doesn't look like it...he was a non-factor. We know he came from an injury but none a bit trace of an MVP pedigree; mas effective pa si Standhandinger. If he wants to prove that he's RP's face/brand of basketball, he should show it. Cant help but compare him with the aging El Khatib and Haddadi, all vicious frontliner and a true leader. MVP ka nga sa PBA di ka naman mapakinabangan ng bansa

my junmar take is this.. Mali ang paggamit kay Junmar. Walang play para kay Junmar. Do you think Junmar will be effective kung takbo lang sya ng takbo at taga screen lang lagi kina Romeo at Castro? Kahit wala pa syang injury kung laging ganun naman ang style ni chup reyes, hindi nga uubra si Junmar. Compared to haddadi, mas may galaw si Junmar, mas mabilis, mas malayo ang range, pero bakit sobrang effective ni Haddadi sa Iran? Dahil sya ang focal point ng offense, dahil sa kanya nag uumpisa ang play. Nakaka score lang si Junmar sa sarili niyang kayod - offensive rebound. Kaya effective sya sa SMB kahit may import dahil sya pa rin ang focal point ng SMB offense. They know how to use him well. Yan ang problema ko ke Chup, reklamo sya ng reklamo na hindi nya makuha best players ng SMC pero pag andyan naman hindi nya na ma maximize ang talents, madalas pa eh bangko, hindi nya ginagamit ng maayos. Same with Tab Baldwin. They always go with that already scouted dribble s@%t offense. Wala si Blatche kaya hindi dapat puro dribble drive lang.

 

I hope Coach tim will be given a chance. Kung puro si Chot lang, wala tayong mapapala.. Coach Tim brings out the best on big guys. Kanino ba gumaling si Ping? di ba kay Cone? hindi naman sa GIlas at ke chup reyes.

 

Worst finish in 8 years sa tournament na to ang Gilas ngayon. Kailangan ba sa PIlipinas lagi gawin ang FIBA ASIA CUP para lumaki lagi ang chance makapasok? lol

Tsaka sana naman sa susunod yng coaching staff is manggagaling sa ibang teams para malawak ang idea , kse sayang yng galing ni Coach Alex, magagamit ng Gilas ang pressure na ginagawa ng Alaska .....

That was done before in the original Gilas by Toroman but bitin sa maturity ng players becoz they're not the best in the land. Twas more successful in Danding's era of Northern Consolidated, but there were more than one naturalized players (Chip Engelland, Jeff Moore, and Dennis Still), which is hindi na pwede sa FIBA rules now

If Asian basketball powerhouse like Korea and China could send their best players to international tournaments I can't see any reason why we cannot do the same stop reasoning that it is in conflict with the PBA sched Korea has the KBL while China has CBL it is a matter of prioritizing for national interest

very well said chief. obviously philippine basketball is no longer a matter of national interest but companies' interest. some players wouldn't even want to don the philippine jersey anymore. just goes to show how pathetic the state of philippine basketball is at present.

PBA and Gilas can co-exist, its just a matter of aligning each priorities.

 

I have long been suggesting na maging 2 normal conferences lang ang PBA tapos yung 3rd conference ay invitationals.

 

1st Conf - All Filipino

2nd Conf - Commissioners Cup (Big Import)

3rd Conf - PBA Asian Invitationals Cup

 

for the 3rd conf, we should invite teams in the asian regions to participate, NZ and Australia can be included. The 12 PBA teams will compete with small import, while the 13th team will be the GILAS team (pull out the Gilas players) and then invite minimum of 5 teams from other countries for a total of 18 teams. This way, ma tetest mo na ang gilas sa international competition agad agad, mas added training time pa nila yung buong conference tournament. Divide into two teams, Team A and Team B kung masyadong madami. Dagdag audience pa sa PBA dahil sa mga Foreigners na mag su support sa visiting countries. Win win situation di ba?

 

Kung ang problema budget, Andyan ang SBP, kesa igastos mo sa mga trips at pocket tournaments abroad ang Gilas, idagdag mo dito yung pondo na yun. May chooks to go pa naman na tutulong. Nakapagpapunta nga ng NBA all stars dito si MVP ng ilang beses yan pa kayang para sa gilas na PBA program na yan?

 

This way, the PBA can continue its run and gain more profit, and GIlas gains a significant experience and longer time together.
