BallBreaker
heehee. MTC fubu and I will be exploring KK, Malaysia on March 9-11. I've noticed that it's usually about KL when you speak of Malaysia so I decided to put up a thread for KK. Any recommendations re the cheapest places to stay and the best things to do in KK? any inputs will be very much appreciated. Quote Link to comment
omnimale
KK is like a province lang...no where to go except to the city which you cant shop kasi pang muslim ang damit. There are a few stores na signature pero limited lang din. Better kung pupunta ka is to bring some loose ringgit kasi walang currency changer sa airport (ewan ko lang now). I cant recommend any cheap place kasi i stayed at sutera harbour hotel, just 10 mins from the airport it it has a lot of swimming pools and water sports. i recommend you eat live fresh seafoods there, and sarap ng sawsawan nila. Things to do naman is just go to mount kinabalu or take a boat to tungku abdul rahman park (island yun). try to book the flight+hotel via air asia mas mura ang rates nila...5 star hotel pa...mga 10k per person or less pa. BallBreaker
^ thanks dude. medyo pricey nga lang sa sutera as per their website. how bout the beaches and wildlife sa Sabah? saw this one kasi and we're kinda leaning towards this> http://www.nagapuri.com/ ganda ba beaches dun? as for the seafood market, kasama yun sa itinerary definitely. ^ thanks dude. medyo pricey nga lang sa sutera as per their website. how bout the beaches and wildlife sa Sabah? saw this one kasi and we're kinda leaning towards this> http://www.nagapuri.com/ ganda ba beaches dun? as for the seafood market, kasama yun sa itinerary definitely. omnimale
Thats a bit far from the city and airport....i havent been there, but i know thats the area where shangri-la rasa ria is located. Mas maganda kasi ang beach dun kesa sa sutera which is mabato. Quote Link to comment

scootmax
several years ago, my work gave me a chance to go to kota kinabalu.our group stayed at sutera harbour for 12 days. 5-star all the way, courtesy of my clients. very nice resort, with a golf course where you can play at night. the reception area alone of the hotel is something else, maganda.the nearby town is more on the provincial side, but we were able to do some value-for-money shopping. before flying back to manila, we got to go island-hopping for a day, and went swimming in a nice quiet beach. Guest
my friends saw the trip na trip episode on kota kinabalu and they found the place to be worth going to. question for those who've been there... is it difficult to arrange for a transfer to the hotel (say like shangri la rasa ria, nexxus, etc) from the airport? dark_horse
Sugarbun cafe, Rainforest cafe at BBQ cafe.
