blitz01
i made a detailed study basing on our gas (2.7 VVTI) and diesel (2.5 D4D) fortuner mixed driving (city and highway) - around 40KM daily driving in city and then about 200km drive out of town weekendsCONCLUSION:short term (1 - 5 year ownership) - pareho lang gastos molonger than 5 years mas nakakatipid na sa gassince i prefer comfort in my SUV gas talaga ako  DIESELpros:daily savings cheaper by 10php and better mileageengine is very reliablestrong pulling power.. for towing cons:higher outright cost of unit (around 100K php more than gas variant)higher insurance costhigher maintenance cost (more parts to maintain and more expensive parts)noise has been greatly reduced in modern diesel engine but it is STILL there  ---------GASpros:cheaper maintenance long termlower outright cost of unitlower insurance costquiet and smooth operation  cons:higher price of gasdi masyado malakas hatak pero better top speed, better on the highway Quote Link to comment
ej_qn
diesel - most diesel engines are euro 4 compliant. My diesel suvs can even beat 2.0L gas engines even when weve passed the 160kph mark. Quote Link to comment
