Broken hearts are mended by other people, whether it'd be friends, family, or a new love; physical injuries such as ligament tears could be fixed by surgery and it wouldn't be that big of a threat once you eventually rehabilitate it. Just ask athletes who encountered it. If you can't accept realities that defaced your ego, it's going to be hard to accept things wholeheartedly.
