I was just wondering kung bakit MySQL ang pinili mo for back end database. I am using MySQL for web-based database programs written in PHP but requires installation of PHP and other server software.

Kung single desktop user lang naman, have you tried using MSDE 2000 or yung Microsoft SQL Express as your backend.

Try mo rin yung PostGRE SQL

hi....need some help in excel or ms access/database..here's the thing, i have a document template, i am thinking to run in it macro so when you sample press alt+f keys it opens the document and can fill the cells. after finishing all the cells, press alt+s to save the document to a specified folder in which the filename was based on a certain cell like the name cell. also there would be a pop up message saying thank you.

thanks

Dahil nga newbie siguro html and css muna nga, then sunod na JS, phyton, ruby. then if pag may time is SAS.

self-studying.

Salamat po sa inyo. If may opinion pa po kayo please share. Thanks in advance!

hindi madaling makapasok sa IT especially software development. well, madali for some, kaso swertihan talaga.

there's basically two ways: hanap ka ng company na tumatanggap ng programmer trainees. yun yung ite train ka nila para maging programmer. usually dapat 4 yr graduate ka ng IT or engineering course. me iba na tumatanggap din ng grad ng ibang course. pero you have to pass the entrance exams (mostly logic and math) and pass the training program. many tried, many have failed.

the other way is by earning work experience. you earn the experience by going from company to company, and making the most of the opportunities there. for example, if you get into work in a firm, tapos try to get into their IT department by applying for a lateral movement. you can do this by showing them na you have built up the necessary skillsets they need.

so kung sa current work mo, meron IT department dyan, try to find out how to get into that department. it wont be easy. pero youre already in the company so that's a plus.

ay meron pala third way. pag naging manager ka na, you could always apply as a project manager sa IT. lol.

as i mentioned before, java is a multi purpose language used for development. pwede pang mobile, pwede pang web, pwede pang desktop. so it's very expansive. as in you will not be able to master everything.

i suggest you go with html/css/javascript first and learn to build static websites. when you get the hang of it, then study java.

I started with C++, Java, Ruby, and Python. Now I'm doing more of erlang, go, and haskell.

Study C++ for foundation. Learn about the company that you want to join based on their job postings and focus on what they listed.

Self study is good but you can take free online courses in coursera as well. Find coding challenges online, pick your language and focus on it for a while. It also helps to monitor the org's chatrooms in IRC.

gaano po ba katagal para ma-master ang isang programming language. kaya ba ito ma-master through self-study lang at home? meron na po akong konting knowledge sa C at VB.net.

As in full mastery ng isang language? Medjo mahirap ata ito sir. Hahah lahat naman kahit expert may nakakalimutan rin and need mag consult. learn the logic basics ng isang language, then if alam mo naman na yun the. Go sa web courses para sa need mo na language sa work or target mo. I'm sure na if mag wowork ka na maninibabo ka pa rin naman since may mga kanya kanyang rules na sinusunod per company. (Unless freelance coding gagawin mo where in bahala ka na)

Sql is also a must ngayon sa field since data is a big game.

Developer ako. 4 Years developer palang ako pero almost Senior status na

If you want gumaling, Logic lang talga at basics, the rest is just applications

SQL is not that much of a must na if you ask me. ORM is now a thing and it's alot easier to handle (Of course if you want to limit data and have data controls eh di syempre need mo pag aralan yung mga iba pang parts non but the basics are easy). Just basic SQL and your good to do (Normalization is a must)

For front end development, IN ang Angular js/Knockout or if you want React. This is easy to understand frameworks and believe me can land you alot of jobs

After a while of basic you study the concepts like MVC/MVVM/Singleton/Builders/etc

If your a .net developer it's easy money

If your a Java developer ok din

If your a SAP developer NAKO yayaman ka (ABAP grabe presyo)

Phython devs are hard to find, ergo price differ

Depende naman yan sa trip mo. Eventually everything turns easy after a while.

Like the majority in here said STUDY C++. That's the root

Pero over reliance in ORM tools/software tends to result in an iffy database design/structure which in turn leads to slow system performances in querying data.

So far right now, if titignan, Big data is the game. Hindi pa man evident locally, it already is sa labas. Look at the proliferation of free app usages. Trending reports are needed kadalasan ng big companies and imagine if you will spew out a bad looking report or false data.

But i do agree na learn talaga yung logic and basics then add up skills sa position na gusto mo. A lot of applicants do good sa tests and logic pero kapag pinagawa mo na on the job dun pumapalya. remember, corporate work would always be different sa nakasanayan ng gawin nung college/freelance lalo na sa software dev.

Microsoft is keen in using it's Entity framework model for ORM and is able to handle big data's. If it's iffy then theres something wrong with the model designs and the edmx and the relationships .

Even our DB developer likes how it runs especially NHibernate

but that's just my two cents. Never had any problems with ORM yet. Except that one time where we didn't turn off the lazy load LOL

Anyone knows if there's a starup company looking for employees? Kaso problema ko is student ako (GDD or Game Design and Development) sa makati. Just looking for opportunities para tulong narin sa magulang ko kasi mahal mag aral sa isang good school like in my case, iAcademy. around 160k-200k a year. If you do know or kahit mga pang extra extra hand lang pwede na rin po. =) If you do know anyone please just giveme a message here. :) If you don't thanks anyways just trying my luck.

Can't seem to find the proper thread for this post. =) Can't start a new one either. =( thank you po ng marami

Also, for the newbies out there go and try to understand the logic of programming muna. There's this book and it's really good for newbies and those interested in learning coding (Programming for dummies.) Not sure kung available siya dito pero I saw one sa powerboooks sa alabang realy helpful.
