RED2018
i never heard kobe mentioned 'k*ll mentality'... tsk ... tsk .. Mukhang mayabang nga si Powell...but on a positive note, sabi nga ni Rico Maiehoper mabuti ng mayabang kaysa sa mabait- madalas kasi na kapag mayabang may ibubuga; wag lang sana puro hangin lang, haha! We'll see tonight... Quote Link to comment

RED2018
Impressive ball movement...nice scary win; that Jackson import of Meralco can dominate. Good thing BGK had the better defense and teamwork.Methinks Powell is still pacing at hindi pa inilalabas ang full potential Edited April 2, 2014 by artedpro Quote Link to comment
junix
Teamwork! Ball movement! This is what you get if there is no ballhog of an import. In Rodgers, the offense starts and ends with him. And the energy...it was a different ginebra squad that played tonight. Ginanahan yata nung nawala yung import na swapang. Powell? I believe may ilalabas pa...considering he just arrived yesterday. Let's see the next game against Alaska. Nice squeaker of a win by bgk. Quote Link to comment

photographer
Ginebra game-hero Chris Ellis deflects credit to 'all business' Josh PowellFrom: Richard DyApril 2, 2014, 11:04 pmhttp://contents.spin.ph/image/chrisellismeralco.jpgGinebra sophomore Chris Ellis says new import Josh Powell was a steadying presence on the court and a good influence inside the locker room. Jerome AscanoWHILE he struck the dagger at the heart of Meralco with two crucial three-point shots in the final minute, Chris Ellis credited new Barangay Ginebra import Josh Powell for being the steady defensive force against the Bolts. The 6-foot-4 Ellis erupted for 14 of his 16 points in the final period, but the high-leaping forward said he couldn't have done that without Powell, who made sure the Gin Kings got the stops on the defensive end, which gave him the chance to run the open floor. The high-flying sophomore said the former Los Angeles Laker was a steadying presence on the court and a good influence inside the locker room. "Josh Powell is very soft-spoken, but he's all business," said Ellis after the 88-78 win over Meralco. "He just brings more focus, seriousness and urgency to the team because nobody's joking around in the locker room. Everybody's just talking about the game, everybody's aggressive mentally." Ellis said the former Los Angeles Laker Powell's vast NBA experience was something that rubbed off on every Gin King from the opening tip off. "You could just feel his experience on the court. Once you get the big men talking and the guards communicating with the big men, that starts something," noted 'Air Force Ellis.' The 25-year-old Ellis said he's just happy to finally see his team execute well on offense, something the team failed to do during its first six games with Leon Rodgers. "We've been practicing like crazy moving the ball, getting assists, getting the men open, proper screening, proper movement, proper spacing. Just anything to get the wide-open shots, just trying to stay aggressive," said the No. 6 overall pick in the 2012 PBA rookie draft. Ellis is confident that the 10-point victory over the Bolts can give the Gin Kings the momentum heading to their last two games as they try to make a strong push for the playoffs. "We just have to keep communicating on offense and defense and then limiting our turnovers in the next games." Edited April 2, 2014 by photographer Quote Link to comment
junix
i agree.. except for the import part...i think nag iingat mainjure mukha ngang pigil ang laro ni powell...either di pa sanay dahil kadarating lang or nag-iingat nga na di ma-injure. pero palagay ko may ilalabas pa. we will know next game against alaska. this would be another acid test not only for powell but also for the whole team. basta teamwork lang at bigay todo ang laro, ginebra will be able to enter the next phase. azraelmd
Wow..ive been waiting for this game... By ginebra...plus the debut of their new import....sadly captain america won over gins vs bolts....But based on your comments ....mukhang ok si powell ah...saw the stat sheets from last night game this morning....parang mas maganda yun kay jackson.....buti nlang gumawa mga locals...especially si ellis...tulad ng sinabi ko sa previous comments ko....local players ng gin vs bolts players....pero 3 points lang nagawa ni aguilar...2 more games and pasok na ang gins sa semis hehehe Quote Link to comment
