Barangay Ginebra Kings

Also, 'yung mga players na galing noon sa Ginebra are doing well for their new teams, just look at Baguio, KG and John Wilson....

Talo na naman, though mas maganda ang ball movement kagabi at rotation ng players, Kerby finally getting major minutes in a losing cause. I am disappointed sa pagkawala ng confidence ni Chris Ellis, he used to hit those long jumpers even treys pero kagabi he muffed two FT's, obviously nawalan na ng confidence ang bata, along with Jensen na 'di nagagamit, kung nasa loob man 'limited pa ang touches dahil parang kabayo na me takip sa mata 'yung isang team mate n'ya na gusto yatang maging MVP ulit, sure he is the main man*/alpha male for Ginebra pero with that kind of attitude the team falters noong 1st conference and once again looks headed in that direction..

Masakit, masakit nasa isip ko..................................sorry Ka Barangays sasabihin ko na sinasaloob ko..................time to trade Mark Caguioa. yes he has the heart but the heart has gotten into him. No ball movements all because he has this thinking that I am the star! Retire Helterbrandt. Get more centers, young centers. Taulava want to retire his basketball uniform in Ginebra. He said that in an interview. Di nga lang puwede kasi MVP hold his playing rights. Yes, he is old but his heart is still in the game. Young bloods in Ginebra are fine, the difference lang is that the Caguioa remains the team breaker. Kapag tinopak, hindi namamasa. Dont get me wrong, i love the guy, his heart, his never say die.

The high-flying rookie had a night to forget in their loss to the ElastoPainters last Sunday.

MANILA - Out of frustration, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel rookie Chris Ellis ripped his jersey off after fouling out of the game versus the Rain or Shine ElastoPainters.

The high-flying newcomer surely was out of sync Sunday night failing to score a single basket on 0-of-2 3-point shooting and one attempt from the field in 23 minutes of action.

Ellis, on the other hand, grabbed four rebounds, issued two assists and a block.

Even some teammates at Ginebra were surprised to see the young cager turn into a "hulkamania".

"I think Chris is a competitor, he doesn't want to lose and to think that he fouled out and he can no longer help the team made him more frustrated," said fellow youngster Yousif Taha.

"Its always frustrating whenever you lose… We kinda shot ourselves in the foot, but we need to get back to business. Fix things. It's not over yet," the slotman added.

Taha, however, said he will never rip his jersey though: "Nah, I'm good. I love my jersey, I want it in one piece".

The action will however not create a major impact on Ellis' rookie fortune, but a team official declared that the slam dunking forward will definitely shoulder the production cost of a new uniform.

"Charge sa kanya yun, pag sinadyang pinunit. Siya magbabayad nun, Di bale sana kung nahila ng kalaban," said a Ginebra source who also informed Solar Sports Desk that Ellis might be charged 400 pesos for the new set of uniform from Accel.

Frustration definitely is the name of the game for the Kings, which the coaching staff is hoping to shake-off in their next assignment.

So focused was the group that the coaching staff, led by Alfrancis Chua, stayed at the dug-out for more that 45 minutes after the game after all players have left.

As they were about to leave the coliseum, Chua can only utter one short statement to media: "Turnover ang kailangan naming bantayan".

Surely, the legions of Ginebra fans are at one with the emotion of the team.

After the loss, kabarangays expressed their grief in different social media sites particularly Facebook and Twitter.

One fan, Kaye Cabal, did not hide her disappointment at how her favorite team played.

Miscues indeed doomed Ginebra with the team coughing up 18 turnovers.

"Saka yung free throws kailangang i-improve, dapat lahat sila--- hindi lang isa," added Cabal, who was shown jumping up and down by the television coverage team when Ginebra tied the game at 70 at start of the fourth period.

I concur. Some if not many might say na he is the main man/alpha make/go-to-guy ng team pero ang pagka "buwaya" made me lose interest in even coming home early pag me laro sila, noong time na naglalaro pa sina Aquino, Hizon, David, Locsin, Cheng, Ong, etc. under Jawo talagang umuuwi ako ng maaga and skip gimmicks just to watched their games, ngayon 'di na talaga. Also, I remember Jawo as a player, he would fake a drive or use his body to protect a team mate o player n'ya na pinasahan n'ya ng bola, Caguioa is different, tira ng tira lately since noong 1st conference pa hence the team faltered.

'Wag mong kalimutan si Baguio, ewan ko ba sa Ginebra, laging me dahilan to be at the bottom of the standings..

Frustrating talaga, una limited touches, tapos nawala pa ang confidence n'ya as a result of those limited touches, heck Ellis could hit those medium range jumpers and even beyond eh, nakita naman natin 'yun.

tama! malakas mag dunk :D obviously FT shooting is not his best arsenal...neither have i seen him take a jumper. puro pang-loob lang ang laro nya.

Sad to say but IMHO ROS is more Ginebra-like (Jawo's era) than the Ginebra of today

More like it! Think extra rice inc., rah-rah guards, pulot boys, clean Tiu, and the rest

Tama pano wala pa-superstar complex sa team nila eh....
