will robie
exactly. let's analyze this. out of the 6 championships of smb (where austria is said to be a perfect 6-0), only once did smb face ginebra in the finals. and that one finals series (all pinoy) greg was unfortunately recovering from his acl injury. in those 5 championships of smb, nobody was able to stand toe-to-toe with junemar. sa sobrang liit ng mga nakaharap niya, junemar bullied and had his way to the basket. everytime he was doubled, the shooters were firing at will. ngayon may nakaharap si junemar. greg covered him one-on-one...thus smb shooters were very well defended. it's really only ginebra that can match up with smb.Yup and SMB does not have a guy like a prime Mark Caguioa who can create for himself when the going got tough. Ginebra has LA and Thompson who can create. Although not as elite as Caguioa once was, these two could create. SMB's offense is pretty much like the Rockets' offense in the mid-90's, feed the ball to Olajuwon and just wait for the pass from the post if he gets doubled. Unfortunately, the Kraken does not have countless moves like the Dream. Edited August 11, 2018 by will robie Quote Link to comment

dinibdib
Quote Link to comment
will robie
ThrowbackCSA gym in the 80s, probably 1985 or 1986. I didn't know Tuadles and Relosa played for Ginebra but I would think one year lang. 28 is Buhay but I don't recognize 17,77 and 33. I also don't know the import. will robie
Right, the Mighty Bucket. I remember watching a game at the ULTRA in the mid-80s, Joey Marquez was balbas-sarado. Ginebra vs. Shell yata yun. Joey Marquez was very physical with the import. Quote Link to comment
*kalel*
Tim is a very brilliant coach coupled with heady ginebra players... yung gameplan and execution ng game plan magpanalo ng series... Greg guarding jmf is a given considering parehas sila ng posisyon and value sa team... what smb did not expect was the man-zone gsm threw at them...scottie and la (and their alternates) will chase down any outside shooters while jbl and jdv patrol the lane... with greg focused on jmf on defense, fajardo got his numbers but not the easyway... Yung pahirap ni greg sa depensa was key as the gins saw open lanes kasi di na makahabol si jmf sa depensa... napagod kakalusot ke greg... Quote Link to comment
will robie
Speaking of Hackett, he combined with Super Bates in the 1986 Open Conference to give Ginebra the title over Manila Beer who had Michael Young and Howard Keeling as import. Ginebra was the clear fave in that conference. It was one of Ginebra's best conferences in its history. Mon Fernandez was still with Manila Beer then. Quote Link to comment
Kazekage.Gaara
Limiting down SMB to 8 points in a quarter. A combination of malas na shooting and excellent defense. Quote Link to comment
