from an offensive player to a defensive stopper. pero tama...dapat pag libre he should not hesitate to shoot.

Ginebra's Caguioa retires after 18 years in PBA

MANILA, Philippines – The other half alf of Ginebra's famed "Fast and Furious" backcourt is set to hang up his jersey.


Mark Caguioa has decided to retire after 18 highly successful years in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), all of them spent with the Ginebra franchise.



Caguioa told CNN Philippines on Monday that he is keen on having a spot as assistant coach of the Gin Kings.


""I'll still be around, and hopefully I can maybe have a spot as an assistant coach or something, but that's later on down the line," he added.


A six-time PBA champion, His minutes have been steadily dwindling during the past couple of seasons, thus his retirement. He has the full support of their management and even received business offers from their bosses.


However, he intends to take a brief break from basketball.


According to a report from Quinito Henson, Ginebra has already offered to retire Caguioa's famed No. 47 jersey, but Caguioa is not yet ready for the occassion.
