coach ato just trusted his players.. for me it was a good decision to go for the win at the very last moment para hindi na makabawi TnT.. Ato even knew that L.A wasn't playing that well but still he designed a play and let L.A drive to the basket and take the winning shot.. Tnt knew that so L.A trusted Japeth and gave him the ball to nail that dagger.. For me even if they lost that game, it will be good for the team, coz they are starting to trust each other and play like how a team should.. it was a bonus that they won.. so im really hoping that this win will boost the chemistry of BGSM

just sharing my thoughts on what happened...

sir, trust on your teammates doesn't focus on offense alone...

if you completely trust your teammates, pati sa depensa dapat naniniwala ka

na mapipigilan nyo ang kalaban... ang sakin is the back-up plan sir...

what if it missed, wala na chance kasi kayo na mismo umubos sa oras...

no matter how we trust each other, dapat may back-up plan pa din tayo...

that's why I said kanya- kanya diskarte yan, that is the situation he choosed ang mag- ubos ng oras luckily it works for him .Your point if shot missed hindi pa rin naman sigurado na sa kanila uli ang bola

tama ka sir, hindi pa din sigurado na kanila pa din ang bola, kaya nga i'm saying that

they're just giving themselves a SECOND CHANCE... walang assurance pero at least

may chance pa... kasi may oras pa...

Good Job GSM! despite some lapses and errors, and ailing players (due to flu) from Greg, Jayjay, to Mark and now LA.

excellent game for Aguilar, Baracael and Monfort! These guys are the future of GSM! B)

first honorable mention na din kay Chris Ellis and Greg Slaughter for their effort from 1st Quarter up to the last Quarter. :)

suwerte ka pa din Ato Agustin at magagaling ang players mo kahit na lousy ka mag coach! you want to take a last shot eh lamang ang kalaban nyo at kayo ang naghahabol??? hindi bale sana kung tabla ang score! :(

agree sir,

same point as mine... if you're in the lead or tabla ang score ok lang mag-ubos ng oras...

pero pag lamang ang kalaban, syempre you need to have back-up plans, magmintis man,

may chance pa ulit... kesa naman pag nagmintis talo na agad... if Ato really trusted his players,

i think wla ng timeout ang Ginebra kaya inubos nila yung oras and take the last shot.

if ever lng nman they shot early and made the shot... may time out pa ang TNT to set a play... then pano kung nk shoot din ang TNT lamang sila...

Ginebra will inbound the ball from the back court kc wla ng timeout... mas mababa ang chances mo to win the game

mas mahirap ang ang dumepensa when your just leading with a 1pt or 2pt.. so yung mga coach mas gusto nila take the last shot and win the game... its a 50:50 Win and loss situation

nonetheless, it still was a great win...typical ginebra win ika nga...come from behind :)

Masyadong prioritized sila MC47, I guess.

Ginebra's big men esp. when Greg, Japeth or JR Reyes makes a lot of players think twice or change their shot

NR.

that's true because if not for the heroics of baracael, japeth, monfort and greg, it could've been another loss for the gin kings. ang sama ng laro...maswerte na lang at pumutok yung mga hinugot. it's still my opinion that for ginebra to really make it all the way...PALITAN NA SI ATO!!!

I agree. Kunin si Rajko, Pido, or as everyone else clamors for: JAWO!

sir,

with all due respect, i think you didn't get my point...

sir, no matter what situation you are in, in a basketball game... whether you

are on the offensive side or on the defensive side, when the clock is running down,

specially during the clutch seconds, it would always be better to be on the lead...

take a a little time to read my example...

if you are to choose, what situation would you want to be in...

A.

Time is running out, the opponent is leading by one... then you'll be hoping

that the next play would favor you??? (no benefit of hindsight please)

B.

Time is running out, you are leading by one... then you'll be hoping that the next play would

favor you??? (no benefit of hindsight please)

it will always be better to be on the lead and then trust your defense,

than take a last second shot and just hope you'd make it...

in my point, if ever the shot missed, BGSM still would have a second chance since there still

would be a time remaining to do so...

Take the best possible shot.

i think wla ng timeout ang Ginebra kaya inubos nila yung oras and take the last shot.

if ever lng nman they shot early and made the shot... may time out pa ang TNT to set a play... then pano kung nk shoot din ang TNT lamang sila...

Both sides walang timeout chief. Not to mention undermanned ang BGSM.

so who's next for ginebra and when?

Barako Bull on December 13, SMAC.

In hindsight madaling mag comment na bakit may itinirang 1.1 seconds pa. Pero if you are the coach and the player executing the play "spit second" decision yan at hindi mo na matatancha na sagadin ang oras.

If you notice LA wasted the time and started the "offensive attack" with around 5 seconds remaining. Sa Basketball eto ang usual na ginagawa if you want to take the LAST SHOT. It just so happened that nun pinasa ni LA kay Japeth un bola he decided to take the three thus may natirang 1.1 seconds. Pero kung covered si Japeth nun malamang nag drive un for the shot which would most likely leave no time remaining sa shot clock.

I wonder how many offensive boards GSM gave away to TnT?

Its alright kung tie ang laban but down? You have to give yourselves an opporunity for more time for rebound and put back OR if you miss, foul the opposing player who gets the rebound. Well, nangyari na pero usap usapan nga sa Coliseum yung decision ni Ato at pumasok pa sa usapan yung style ni Baby Dalupan, and his student, Jaworski. Pati si Manotoc napag usapan. Buti naipasok ni Japeth then the subsequent block to seal the game para sa atin.

So far, so good for Ginebra, sana ego won't set in among the players lalo na sa twin towers nila, I remember EJ Feihl noon circa 1998, na nagpalipat sa purefoods then later on magso-sorry ke Jawo, akala n'ya yata napalagaling n'ya while si Marlou naman nagpa-trade and ended up with the defunct SLR (circa 2000 yata), noong time na wala na si Jawo sa Ginebra.

Recent guest in our country, the legendary coach and Nike director for global sports commented on the Gin Kings vs. Tnt game which he saw live...

Medyo OT pero Castro is not the best pg in Asia for nothing, naglaro na nga sa Singapore Slingers 'yan before entering the PBA eh.
