Jaworski gives props to Japeth's dad

Japeth’s father, Peter Aguilar, once played as a backup center under Jaworski in Anejo Rhum 65 (the old name of Barangay Ginebra) during the early 1990s.

 

“Nung na-meet ko siya (Jaworski), sobrang na-inspire ako kasi kinamayan niya lahat ng mga players, pero pagdating niya sa akin, ako lang ni-recognize niya,” Japeth told Spin.ph’s Richard Dy.

 

“Sabi niya, ‘O Japeth,’ sinabi niya pangalan ko, ‘Iyung tatay mo player ko dati. Mahusay din.’”

 

Japeth, who was recently acquired Ginebra from GlobalPort, said that what made him even more proud was that Jaworksi remembered his dad despite all the players he has handled.

 

“Nakaka-inspire kasi di ko inexpect 'yun since sa dami niyang (Jaworski) nahawakan na players, tapos maalala niya pa ng ganun ang papa ko. Malaking bagay yun para sa akin,” he said.

Correct! I think the problem with this kid is more of the mental/psychological rather than his skills to be able to be productive for whichever team he plays for.

I'm sure that Al Chua or Jaworski could have done a lot with regards to Japeth's problem, hopefully their new coach could do the same..
