Sayang 'di ko napanood laro nila kagabi, Jun-Jun Cabatu can definitely play, like I said noong nasa welcoat s'ya maganda naman ang inilalaro n'ya doon although parang nawalan na ng playing time ng mapunta na sa welcoat si Devance..

‘Di ba naglaro na noon sa NBA Developmental League si Chris Alexander (before his stint with Ginebra) kaya scouted na ‘yan ng mga NBA teams at maganda din na nakapasok si Alexander sa NBA, added credentials din ‘yan sa resume n’ya, sayang ‘di ko napanood laro ng Oklahoma City Thunder laban sa Sacramento, nilipat ko na before the actual game kasi parang hindi naman interesting ‘yung laro kung alam ko lang na andon si Alexander sana pinanood ko to see how he fares doon. Also, doon sa isang room maraming nagsa-suggest na kunin si Alexander bilang isa sa mga naturalized na players para sa RP Team, dahil nga matindi ang ipinakita n’ya noong nakaraang conference at swak na swak ang laro n’ya na malakas sa rebound, sa shot blocking at maging sa depensa. Also, magtataka ka din talaga dahil kahit napaka-tindi ng performance n’ya sa PBA pero pagdating sa NBA 5 to 10 minutes lang nilalaro n’ya, whereas noon ‘yung isang dating import din ng Ginebra na si Kevin Gamble naging starter pa (yata) para sa Celtics samantalang ‘di naman n’ya natapos ang stint n’ya with the said team dahil pinalitan s’ya..

Also, magtataka ka din talaga dahil kahit napaka-tindi ng performance n’ya sa PBA pero pagdating sa NBA 5 to 10 minutes lang nilalaro n’ya, whereas noon ‘yung isang dating import din ng Ginebra na si Kevin Gamble naging starter pa (yata) para sa Celtics samantalang ‘di naman n’ya natapos ang stint n’ya with the said team dahil pinalitan s’ya..

 

Gamble played for a month with Anejo Rum. He teamed with Billy Ray Bates in the 1988 PBA Reinforced Conference. In the 4 games he played, he averaged near 50 ppg. But it was the out of shape Billy Ray Bates who couldn't keep up, scoring less than 20 ppg. With a losing record, Anejo management decided to send both imports back home.

 

Gamble returned to the CBA and scored 20+ ppg in a dominating, 12-game stint with Quad Cities.

 

In early 1989, Larry Bird was injured. Kevin Gamble was called up from the CBA and was signed the remainder of the season. He played with hall-of-fame talent such as Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish, as well as Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge, Reggie Lewis and Brian Shaw. Gamble played sparingly the first few months and it looked like the Celtics would expose him to the expansion draft at season’s end. That all changed with a strong, seven minute performance in a road win over Philadelphia. His play over the final six games of the regular season impressed head coach Jimmy Rodgers. With starter Dennis Johnson out during that span, Rodgers trusted Gamble to step in and contribute.

 

After seeing spot duty for two seasons he assumed a major role with Boston in 1990-91. Gamble played in every game, including 76 starts, and averaged 15.6 points (fourth on the team, behind Bird, Lewis and McHale) in 33 minutes per game and helped the Celtics to a 56-26 record and a return to first place in the Atlantic Division.

 

Gamble played seven seasons with the Celtics from 1988 through 1994, averaging double figures during four of those seasons. For three consecutive seasons, from 1990-1993, Gamble played in all 82 games. He came off of the bench while splitting time with the Miami Heat and Sacramento Kings in his last three seasons in the NBA.
