pogi_cute Posted August 10, 2008 Share Posted August 10, 2008 i agree that jj is a big factor for the gins. as i have said, the gins can win without jj. look at how they played in the 1st 3qtrs. there are 2 things that were very evident in the air21 win, domination by the big men and defense. i dont know why reaves was not fielded in. i know that menk is swerte but scoring can be done by junthy mark and alexander. defensively, they are in the losing end. i guess that cause them the game. also, i think air21 wants it more. jong should utlilize his big men properly. i cant imagine him fielding mamaril for menk in the crucial 4th qtr. he didnt use reavis until the game is blown out. he didnt even tell his boys not to give canaleta or other air 21 players a good look to shoot the 3pt shot. o well, i guess it will be 4-2 in favor of air21 unless the gins will come up to something that will enable them to control the boards and help alexander. IMHO, i think we are in great danger without JJ, arboleda would go balistic, he controlled the game very well last night , the tempo, the crowd, the situation. Clearly Artadi was outplayed, so is pacana, Ginebra must shifts its gears now ...as to play the post more, rather than play the uptempo style ( running game ) Give Menk / Reavis / Alexander more touches, let the air21 double them , to create room for ginebra shooters....Mc47 to play a more decoy player as to feed the ball inside ..rather than play its usual 3 guards play....pacana and artadi...won't be effective if only mc47 and junthy would run with them....how we miss , Tubid and JJ.... the series just became interesting..suddenly underdogs na ginebra...let us see next game. Pinipilit pa rin yung 3-guard plays ng Gins e kulang na nga sila sa guards e. Dapat bagong plays naman para sa remaining capable players (Junthy, Menk, Alexander, Mark, Artadi, Salvacion). Si Alexander (or Menk, Reavis, Mamaril) nga ng pinaka-malaki na naglalaro bihira mabigyan ng post-up. Simple lang naman, post-up siya tapos double (or triple team) na siya ng Air21 so may malilibre (Mark, Junthy, Salvacion, Artadi, Pacana). Shoot pag kaya at malapit sa ring, pasa sa ibang shooter kung hirap. Syempre hahabol ang Air21 sa shooter. Pag hindi nashoot ng shooter, malapit na sa ring ang rebounder (Alexander, Menk, Reavis, Mamaril) for second chance points. Sus, kasimple ng basketbol e. Quote Link to comment
