Lucia ironed out the kinks in its relationship with its import just in time for the Realtors' quarterfinal series against the Kings in the Smart PBA Fiesta Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome Sunday. The Realtors and Benson were at odds regarding the latter's off-court habits, which included late nights out. Deeming Sta. Lucia's policy too strict, Benson made a pair of promises to the team before the Talk 'N Text match Friday night: First, that he would lead Sta. Lucia to the quarterfinals and, second, he would play his final game as a Realtor. The 34-year-old Benson scored 26 points and grabbed 27 rebounds to make good on his first promise as Sta. Lucia ousted Talk 'N Text, 111-96. That's when the Realtors decided to do all they can to make sure the second promise would not be fulfilled. "He's (Benson) going to play," said Sta. Lucia coach Boyet Fernandez. "We talked to him after the game (against Talk 'N Text), and he knows now his role in the team, and he knows his importance to our team." Coca-Cola, which will be parading a new import in Brandon Dean, also starts its best-of-three series with Magnolia in the opener at 4:30 p.m. The Tigers replaced Donald Copeland, who had to leave in a hurry to attend a custody case back home in the US. The Beverage Masters will lean on import Amal McCaskill and a vaunted local squad that includes Danny Ildefonso, Danny Seigle, Dondon Hontiveros, Lordy Tugade, Mike Cortez, Olsen Racela and rebounding whiz Marc Pingris. Lagi nakakabuwelo kung di slam dunk foul shot naman. Yung 3 fouls ni Alexander kay Williams lahat galing, isa kay Benson. Dahil maliit (Wilson at Junthy) o kaya mabagal (Menk at Mamaril) di nababantayan yung tira ni Williams sa labas. ANo kaya kung Reavis ilagay nila kay Williams? Ano sa tingin nyo? Di gaano maganda laro ni JayJay kanina tapos si Junthy limited ang laro dahil sa foul, buti na alng nag step up si Artadi. Good luck sa next game. Quote Link to comment
