CHRISTIAN Standhardinger made himself available for the coming PBA Rookie Draft and lined himself as possible top pick in the Oct. 29 event.

 

Standhardinger, 27, filed his application right on the deadline set for Fil-foreign players to submit their papers before the Commissioner's office.

The Fil-German has turned heads in the short time he had been to the country following his stint with Gilas Pilipinas in the 39th Jones Cup, FIBA Asia Cup, and the 29th Southeast Asian Games.

The 6-foot-7 Standhardinger has committed to play for the Hong Kong Eastern Lions in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) and could miss the first half of the season if ever he gets drafted.

Aside from Standhardinger, seven other Fil-foreign players managed to submit their respective applications at the end of the deadline on Monday.

San Beda stalwart Davon Potts and La Salle's Jason Perkins and Julian Sargeant also applied for the draft as well as Andreas Cahilig. Potts, Perkins, and Cahilig are teammates with back-to-back PBA D-League champions Cignal HD Hawkeyes.

Completing this year's batch of Fil-foreign applicants are Robert Herndon, Felix Aprecu, and Zachary Nichols.

The league will have 30 days to scrutinize their papers whether they are eligible for the draft or not.

ang daming pahihirapan na bigs nitong si Standhardinger.. kahit si Fajardo at Slaugther mahihirapan dito kc may galaw at agressive.. I wish mapunta sya sa non SMB teams.. kia or blackwater para mag iba ang timpla ng PBA..

 

Ang gusto ko ke Standhardinger no frills, no fancy stuff pero he gets the job done. Sana nga makuha s'ya ng either KIA o BW kaso pag sa BW yan he might just end up with an MVP team, parang farm team ng MVP team ang BW, kaya nga nagulat ako sa Ellis at Marcelo for Art Dela Cruz at Raymond Aguilar trade, akala ko sa isang MVP team mapupunta si Dela Cruz. Yung Aguilar ok din yan, me games ang Ginebra noon against BW na gumagawa s'ya at pinahihirapan ang Ginebra, 'yung pala dating practice player ng Ginebra si Raymond according sa kaibigan ko na basketball fanatic
