kind patron
Suggest you book through airbnb and select locations within mongkok. Best move you'll ever make! Another good move to make is to take bus instead of airport express train to the city. That's hkd33 vs hkd90 for just a travel time difference of 20 mins plus you get a better viewThanks sir for this tip. Quote Link to comment

Exec278
1. Stay in hotels located at Hong Kong island, not Kowloon. IMO, this side is safer, quieter, and more orderly.2. If staying for more than 2-3 days and expect to travel a lot, buy an Octopus card and use it as often as possible.3. When dealing with any shop's sales person, put a straight face and commanding voice. To be honest, they wouldn't mind. What they do mind is if you sound like you don't know what you want and you are just wasting their time.4. Buying a camera, go to Mongkok and look for Wing Shing Photo supplies. They offer better prices, and they don't sell fakes.5. Don't get tricked by camera shops found along Tsim Sha Tsui (Kowloon side), they are vultures.6. For those who haven't been to any Disneyland park, it is worth visiting HK's version. Just don't expect Mickey speaking English that much.7. If you have the money and kids, it is worth staying in one of the Disney hotels and stay for 2 nights.8. Thinking of going to one of those girly bars in Wan Chai? Forget it. Ladies drink price is astronomical especially if you convert to Peso. Will add more later. Quote Link to comment

WarmachineX
Best choice of hotel for me is along Yaumatei. You can maximize your time at night dahil sa ibaba lang ng hotel yung mga night markets. Sa baba din ng hotel andun na yung mga malulupit na food stalls and street food na famous sa HK. Quote Link to comment
