Nicco26
Some people envy other relationships, why it couldn't be like their relationship as well. They see a pair who are very sweet, some who are just talking and laughing, while others are fighting on the eve of love. Valentines day isn't just about being a couple and loving each other. It's also day to cherish with the person you love most. Doesn't matter if the person is your mom, your brothers or your pet. The most important person to offer your valentines day is to God, as He never stopped loving us Quote Link to comment
Queen Darkeinjel
here are some reasons for me to personally not celebrate valentine's day (not sure if others can relate) 1. commercialism - the price of flowers from a single stem rose to bouquets sky-rocket. other items that can/could be used as gifts also go up. even some cab drivers join in by asking for on-top of fare... 2. traffic - as it is traffic is already crazy everyday, but this one just like on any other special day, it becomes horrendous. 3. and lastly, because i'd rather show that someone how i feel on unexpected simple days, i appreciate the same. example: a handwritten letter to him placed inside his wallet just because i felt like writing one. him giving me my fave lemon bar from my fave bakeshop on an unexpected friday. a surprise phone call to my mom just to tell her i love her on a wednesday, etc. those little things made special by the thought behind it and not because it's "expected" by society to be done on a certain day. for me, why make a fuss on valentine's day when i can make my own "heart's" or "love" day specifically tailored for those who are special to me?
