kingsville
press release muna TFE beats Team West Coast.... in a minor league (simulated) game In a scrimmage between two intriguing minor league teams, the TFE juniors team won easily, 7-2, over the WC farmboys. Fernando Martinez (NYM) homered off lefty Chad James (FLA) in the 1st inning. He finished the game 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs. Leadoff hitter Peter Bourjos (LAA) went 1 for 2 with 2 walks, 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases, while making defensive plays from center field. TFE starter Martin Perez (TEX), fared better with 4 scoreless innings, a walk and 4 K's. TFE top prospect Jason Heyward (ATL) went 1 for 3 and a RBI single in the 5th inning to make it 4-0 and never looked back. Jose Iglesias (BOS) also homered in this game. James ended up with 5 innings, 4 ER, 3 walks and struck out six. WC top prospect Desmond Jennings (TB) struggled and went 0 for 4. Their lone bright spot was Josh Bell (BAL), who homered in the 6th. The rivalry went to the next level after Madison Bumgarner (SF) plunked Ian Desmond (WAS) in the 9th, clearing both benches, then came shades of the Youk-Porcello fistfight last season.
