and it sure looks like it...

this is turning out to be...

The New Boston Massacre

Jun 17 Ortiz had the hard cast removed from his left wrist on Monday and has been cleared to begin range-of-motion exercises, the Boston Herald reports.

Recommendation: The pain in the wrist has subsided, indicating the torn tendon sheath is healing well, so it looks like Ortiz will avoid season-ending surgery at this point. Continued pain in the area would be an indication that significant healing was not taking place.

I still don't know how they got away with their physical brand of D under the new rules but they won with it and that's all that matters.

(trying not to raise an eyebrow)

That's what works in the East: choking, physical defense.

Remember Riley's Knicks, AI's 76ers, the 2006 Heat, the Pistons, and Jordan's Bulls?

The only possible exception was Kidd's Nets who won through fluid offense which, not coincidentally, was coached by Byron Scott who was trained largely in the West.

dude, my point was that they got away with a lot of things a normal NBA team don't.

it isn't even about East Coast or West Coast ball.

the last set of rule changes were made to make the offensive player own his space and keep defenders "honest".

in theory, the C's shouldn't have gotten this far if the same rules actually applied to them.

they would've lost a lot more games in the postseason just by putting teams on the foul line.

but hey, Beantown needed a revival so...there you go.

stern at his finest...

and well, if this went game 7 btw, it would've definetely been controversial, to say the least...

heck, im an LA fan ever since the "magic" days, but with a lousy offense like that, and an even lousier D, they didn't deserve the title... not a bit...
