Boys, boys, of course, I want to win. I'm here to win week after week.

No other aim but to defend my title.

Or at very least, contend for a playoff spot.

But, unfortunately, AJB got it perfectly: my team simply won't cooperate.

To my mind, I drafted my team very well.

I got Ethier and Slowey cheap while Lowe, Harang and Wandy fell on my lap.

Solid pitching staff with the core of my bats intact but with Chipper and Ethier now.

Then there's Ichiro who is suddenly hitting dingers.

If anything, maybe I should've kept Theriot over Aviles.

We traded Tabachucher and Crawford for Hanley and Fat Fielder with the thought that the HR and RBI will be offset by the two but with better returns in SB, BA and OPS. Right after the trades, Crawford went on a base-stealing spree with a couple of home runs in between. This is a guy who hasn't hit a home run in five decades.

And then Manny got caught doping.

Not surprisingly, Ethier's big numbers disappeared as well.

My most durable man, Aramis, went to the DL.

Aviles vanished into thin air.

Pat couldn't get his groove as a DH in Tampa.

Coco scores runs, sure, in the rare cases that he gets on base.

That's my seven-week season, folks.

If not for Lowe and company, it could've been a lot worse.

There was no such thing as Curse of the Bambino.

It was just in the collective paranoia of Red Sox Nation.

How sweet it was for the Idiots to turn it around.

I'm not sure, however, if there is no such thing as the Curse of the Tabachucher.

And it looks like I'm the only idiot in my team.

Oh, I forgot.

Chris Perez bungled his ninth-inning role for the Cards... but which is more of LaRussa's doing than Chris's.

That Eric Wedgie guy totally screwed up Matt LaPorta's major league debut.

I hope he gets his a$s fired soon.

At least Holland is getting a shot at the rotation... pitch-count notwithstanding.

And Jordan Zimm was off to a fiery start only to realize a sad fact of life:

he's pitching for the Nats. :thumbsdownsmiley:
