Jongkers
brad lidge as a cy young candidate ...... wtf!!!!!!!!!!!Cool! :thumbsupsmiley: Comeback player awardee pa. great game.that Thome HR was classic.Naawa nga ako kay Blackburn e.He made one mistake and it cost the team their season. :thumbsdownsmiley: gusto ko pa sana mag pickup ng players, wala ng mapulot na matino at possible keeper.Meron pa yan!I actually want to pick up someone pa pero I don't think I can add him to my keep-10 which is already crowded as it is. Ipagdadasal ko na lang na makuha ko pa sa late rounds ng filler draft. Edited October 1, 2008 by Jongkers Quote Link to comment

gift_of_game
wasn't really all Blackburn's fault.the Twinkies just couldn't get anything off Danks either. both Mauer and Morneau laid eggs. I hope I'm wrong but this might be a bad match-up for the Rays. Quote Link to comment

The Rays' pitching staff will have to be very wary of this White Sox order. Red Sox-Dodgers! Woohoo!! :thumbsupsmiley: Quote Link to comment

Jongkers
Di ako marunong gumawa ng video e. Kaya nagpa-interview na lang ako.... Scott Pianowski: Let me open this interview by congratulating you for winning the championship in the very first season of fMLB Full Count. Quite an accomplishment for a rookie manager in fantasy baseball -- in a keeper league at that! Jongkers: Thanks, Pianow Man! I myself am surprised at how my team performed in the finals. Those were truly incredible numbers. Pianow: Indeed. But looking back, your team has always been considered as a contender. Your winning week after week surely has sent notice to the other teams that the Mutts should not be taken lightly. Jongkers: Haha As I’ve maintained all along, my team was very fortunate to belong to the Cactus League where the competition was less tougher compared to the other division. Also, the schedule seemed to favor my team. Just luck, I guess. Lots of it. Pianow: I looked at the team as you drafted it and compared it to the winning team. There are very noticeable changes there. Jongkers: Yes. There were a few trades that I made. Early in the season, I got Brad Lidge and Hunter Pence for Justin Upton and Edinson Volquez. In separate occasions around the All-Star Break, I traded for Milton Bradley, John Maine and Conor Jackson in exchange for Chone Figgins, Edgar Renteria, Oliver Perez and two draft picks next year. Oh, I also lost the promising Pedro Alvarez in the Jackson deal. Pianow: Those latter ones are big trades, don’t you think? Jongkers: I do. But at those times, my thinking was “to win now.” I was already solidifying my hold on the second spot but I felt I needed to make some changes as other teams then were also making big moves. Pianow: Which of these trades have the biggest impact? The biggest contribution? Jongkers: That’s easy: the Lidge for Volquez deal. What Lidge did this season was phenomenal. Next would be the Pence for Upton. With Crawford, Figgins and Matsui injured, it was Pence who kept my outfield alive. I haven’t really gotten much from Bradley but I’m sure he’ll come up big again next season. He could’ve won the AL batting title if not for his nagging injuries. Pianow: What do you think was your best free agent pickup? Jongkers: First would be Ryan Theriot. I couldn’t believe then that he was just sitting there at the FA pool. Second is Brian Fuentes, but I actually got him from waivers. Third is Ryan Doumit. Harang was also very useful for a few starts. And Mike Aviles! Pianow: What’s next for The Rally Mutts? Jongkers: Aside from defending the title? Haha I’m looking forward to the winter meetings. Hopefully, I could get one or two more draft picks from there. Pianow: Have you thought about the Keep-10 rule? Jongkers: Of course. It’s a part of forward planning. Right now, my mind is to keep five batters and five pitchers. The obvious keepers are Ryan Howard, Aramis Ramirez, Carl Crawford, Pence, Bradley, Lidge, John Lackey and Derek Lowe. The last two spots are still being contested by AJ Burnett, Aaron Harang, Jackson and Theriot. Pianow: How about your prospects? Jongkers: I’m looking forward to Matt LaPorta being called up next season. He’ll be a big help to my outfield. Also, I’d like to see a more permanent closer-duty for Chris Perez. Pianow: Last question: Why “The Rally Mutts?” Jongkers: Haha I got it from the 2002 Angels. Remember their “rally monkey?” Just like their propensity to win games in come-from-behind fashion, my team(s) has this similar reputation. I just changed it to “mutts” ‘cause, you know, I’m a dog person. Pianow: Very well said. Thanks, man, and congratulations again! Jongkers: Thanks, Pianow Man! :thumbsupsmiley: Quote Link to comment
