agentjackbauer
Im actually biased in favor of a Keep 8 instead of 10 but since this is baseball and not basketball where only five players are on the court, ok na rin sa akin ang 10. Di na maganda kung mas marami pa doon kasi parang wala na masyadong change sa make-up ng teams year in and year out. sa karamihan ng nababasa kong keepers league sa ibang forums, pinakamarami na 8.. yung iba 6 or 5 nga lang.. minaximize ko lang talaga yung allowed sa yahoo PLUS setting.. 14 teams x 22 players = 308 rostered players kung magdagdag pa tayo magiging 322, isama mo pa sa count yung mga "reserved" minor league players, baka wala na matira sa FA pool.. di na magkakaroon ng movement.. gift_of_game
san na si consig? trade talk time... and should I consider this good news? Jul 28 Nick Carfardo, of The Boston Globe, reports Seattle Mariners SP Erik Bedard (shoulder) is not fitting in with the team and could be traded this season. One Mariners official said Bedard "is a guy who just didn't fit here. He needs to go somewhere where there's another strong personality who can kick his butt." wonder if the Yanks are on the phone... bubuy
some scout notes on burnett and bedard: Phillies Notes: Scout: Phillies should bring up Carrasco A longtime National League scout with knowledge of the players the Phillies are trying to acquire says the club should bypass the trade market and promote Carlos Carrasco from double-A Reading. The scout, who requested anonymity, acknowledged that Toronto's A.J. Burnett and Seattle lefthander Erik Bedard would be "a tremendous upgrade to their club right now." But the scout has watched the hard-throwing Carrasco several times over the last few years and believes the 6-foot-3, 215-pound righthander has a chance to be a frontline major-league starter. "If I was them, I'd bring up Carrasco," the scout said yesterday. "He has more than enough to dominate a major-league club on any given day. With [Tom] Gordon down, they might be able to bring up [brett] Myers and put him in that role and not have to touch the minor leagues" with a trade. "The National League East isn't strong, and I don't think you have to give away your farm system to win this thing." The Phillies, however, are steadfast in saying that Myers will rejoin the club as a starter when his minor-league demotion ends. Despite his electric stuff, Carrasco, 21, took just a 5-7 record and 4.18 ERA into last night's start for Reading. As for Burnett (9-8, 5.23 ERA) and Bedard (6-4, 3.67, on the DL), the scout said both are talented but have shortcomings. "To me, Burnett has been a classic underachiever," the scout said. "If I had his arm, I could win a lot of games. He doesn't have a tremendous feel for pitching, but he has tremendous stuff. Bedard, on the other hand, has good stuff and has a feel for pitching, but is extremely short with [guts]. . . . Two of his pitching coaches have said that after six innings, nine out of 10 times he'll say, 'I had enough.' If he had [Curt] Schilling's makeup, he'd win 20 games every year." The scout said the Phils should look at their only World Series title team as a blueprint for the rest of the season. "Just look at history," he said. "In '80, they brought up Bob Walk, Dickie Noles and Marty Bystrom, and before the rest of the league knew who they were, they were able to get guys out. When they don't know you and you touch 96 [m.p.h.], like Carrasco does, you get a lot of outs. If I were them, I'd roll the dice with him." Most teams have mentioned Carrasco in trade talks. Shortstop Jason Donald, centerfielder Greg Golson, and catcher Lou Marson are other Phillies minor-leaguers drawing interest. we, the fantasy players, should have more access to these kinds of notes..
