bubuy
it's one-time promotion. i was thinking if we are able to keep players (being able to promote/demote ala fNBA Live), there might be nothing left for the FA (players wont be moving around different teams).. like now, the SP pool is super dry.. my initial rationale was if a player (in the farm) is performing too well, the GM would have to promote him or force him to make a trade (to make space or to use the farm player as trade bait), that way there would be a nice flow/movement of players.. although, im thinking of the viability of the 6-year minors rule (w/c o-man discussed).. maybe we can have 4-5? still working out the pros and cons..another thing im looking at is having a Protect 2 in our farm, those in the P2 can be promoted/demoted within that season w/o risk of someone picking him up.. every year, you can declare different players for P2.. the last thing we wanna happen is GMs locking up players and not using them.. im open to suggestions on how to improve the league.. === denim, you dont have to worry, its first week fluke syndrome.. looking at your stats, you could've easily beat half of the league.. agentjackbauer
Yeah DH, I checked your batting stats. You would have beaten my team black and blue. Just unlucky you were up against Bubuy's powerhouse team though. I agree with the one-time promotion thing. The FA pool has become too shallow. I am against the P2 suggestion for the same reason. At best, I am amenable to having a maximum number of demotion/promotion (add/drop) to a MiLB player, say 2 in a season. You can promote him once then demote him if he doesnt perform well, then promote him again (for the 2nd time). The next time you drop him, he becomes FA-eligible and will no longer go back to the farm. This allows a manager to "try out" his farm boy at least once for the season. After that, a manager has to decide between sticking with the farm boy in his active roster or sending him back to the farm. Quote Link to comment

denimhead
half the league .. yet i get to be matched up against yr powerhouse .. huhuhuhuhuhu i like the p2 .. how about designating p2 players but they can only be promoted /demoted limitedly like say 3 times then either they get kept or they get fa eligibility Quote Link to comment

gift_of_game
the P2 sounds good esp. for those who are close enough to the Show, masterB... what we could do (dunno if this sounds good) for the one-time promotions is this--- the team can promote the prospect just for one time during the season but if for whatever reason, he doesn't stick---injuries, demotion etc.---the team can send him back down only once. in between, he can't be "promoted" a second time by the the mother team (as per our present rules) but he can be dealt/traded... however, if the mother team truly intends to keep his rights, he should be promoted entering the final 4 weeks of the season and kept on the team roster regardless of his situation (he could be raking in double A or having coffee with Dr. Andrews etc...). if not, the mother team effectively renounces his rights forever. and "minor league graduation"...I think we can just tweak the values for prospects currently owned in terms of at-bats/innings pitched...say, 300 major league ABs/250 innings pitched? in effect, they exhaust their minor league eligibility once they get past these and have to be promoted/dealt/traded.
