I couldn't have asked for a better week if my team also reversed the lead here. my SP's dropped the ball big time for my team to crawl out of the big hole it dug for itself. I still like though that the matchup became closer today...

I benched a lot of guys for the last day thinking maybe I could offset the .009 deficit in the AVG.

Then those guys showed up and batted .400.

this is probably the most difficult and most intriguing fantasy sport to manage because of the tendency for players to go on the most maddening streaks and slumps.

 

I give this a couple more weeks.

after that, I'm gonna channel Bob DeNiro in "The Fan", drive down to ATL and bugger Big Tex until he starts hitting like he should.

True. Renteria has joined the slump team along with the freaky wrist injury to Aramis.

Then there's the hamstring condition of Figgins.

But I'd rather see them this cold now rather than in the next couple of months.

Thank heavens for Carl, Pence and Rowand who have been keeping my team afloat.

Honestly, if this were not a keeper league, I've traded him weeks ago pa.

 

I'll keep him on the bench from time to time na lang.

Hopefully, Rolen could make up for the temporarily lost power bat.

Or maybe replace him from someone in the FA pool.

well, you cant blame him 100% for that, it was okajima who allowed the runners to score.. personally i would have left hansen in there if i was francona..

 

he's still maybe a year and a half from taking over closing duties, but everyone in the BoSox organization has pretty much decided that he will inherit that role in the future..

i think yes.. we all know that closing is a different animal than setting up.. betancourt was fantastic last year as the 8th inning guy, but when the chance to finally lock up the closers role this year, he has faltered..

 

it's the mentality of closing that is the big difference, it's also well documented the dominant closers sometimes have slip ups when put in non-closing situations.. these guys should have ultra short term memory, that's probably why a lot of people still has faith in the lidge and gagnes of the league..
