Mrcharles
Smoking is my stress reliever and so it's really not easy for me to just quit. I tried quitting gradually but everytime I do that my craving will just heightened and I go back to square one. I am really amazed by the people who did quitting and actually doing it. I think the best way is to surround yourself with people who are trying to quit smoking. That way you'll be indulged with the norm of quitting and be guiltily minded by the people surrounding you. Dr ED
The best way to quit smoking join a group or buddy who doesn't smoke. In the beginning there will be argument that's ok but later on you feel to stop smoking. Quote Link to comment

jernog
Most people I know who successfully quit smoking immediately went cold turkey. However I think that is not for every one. I think making a conscious effort to reduce the number of sticks per day is a start. Personally I tried to taper the number of sticks but found myself smoking more cigarettes than the previous day. Quitting can be really hard. Quote Link to comment
ryokan21
Just wanted to add my experience, was able to stop for a year, but with just 1 smoke after due to a buddy's night out, less than a week, I was worst off... Its quite hard to stop when you already stopped before, because the moment you dive back in to smoking you tend to be a much more aggressive smoker... bohica1925
After 27 years, I decided to stop. I did not halve. I did not decrease. I did not vape. I just stopped. It's been 3 years now. The first 2 weeks are the most difficult. 2 weeks are just 14 days. If I can do it, you can do it. http://www.addictedtosaving.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/butterball-turkey1.jpg Quote Link to comment
C.Unicron
Stopped smoking and now I'm into vape. It's been more than a month now. Surprisingly, even though I don't have my vape with me, and I hang out with my friends who still smoke, I don't have the urge to light a cig. Ika-nga, sanayan lang siguro and disiplina.
