just a friendly advice..

sell your 125 scooter there and get a new one here in the Philippines. there are PLENTY of Bureau of Customs horror stories about importing vehicles, most of all motorcycles.

just look at the recent book scam a few months ago.

when importing your bike, be prepared to pay 200% tax on your scooter, may even go up to 400%. that does not even include the storage fees in their warehouses.

maiba naman ako..

Has anyone tried putting regular gasoline in their motorcycle/underbone?

kaunti na lang ang karga na unleaded from my last full tank so this afternoon I ventured out to the office. btw, I'm here in the provinces so every station has a regular pump. when I came up to the caltex station pila ang unleaded and premium ng mga nakamotor and tricycle. sa regular wala I took it as a sign for me to go ahead and fill up.

nung dumating si gasoline boy ay hindi siya sigurado kung magpapakarga ako. I told him to go ahead, gusto ko subukan. the GB told me that usually those who fill up on regular are the old two-stroke tricycles, it's his first time to fill up a scooter.

hehe.. nagalinlangan pa rin ako so I told him to fill it up with just a liter; para in case ayaw ng scooter ko ay madali idrain. so ayun, karga ng 1 liter.

it runs!!! hehehe.. nung start ko ay saka ko lang napansin na nakatingin pala lahat ng nakapila sa unleaded/premium sa akin. siguro taka sila bakit sa regular ako nagpapakarga

I tried to ascertain what is the difference with regular versus unleaded. I noticed that the annoying lurch I feel when I down throttle and suddenly up throttle disappeared. there was also less vibrations (after a few kilometers of travel.. naubos na ata ang nasa fuel line na unleaded).

basta, gonna try it out for a week. looks promising. takot ko lang ay ang epekto nito sa makina. is there? basta.. daily ko ichecheck ang oil ko rin. if it turns out okay then I'm sticking to regular.

well.. it's been 3 weeks now since I started putting regular gasoline in my scooter (motorstar hawk-II 150cc). The performance is better compared to unleaded. btw, ALL unleaded is now E10 as mandated by law, even premium gasoline has ethanol.

ngayon, tuwing magpapakarga ako ng regular ay nakangiti ako. why? I fill up on 35-37 pesos per liter compared to 44-46 per liter on unleaded/premium.

ang laki ng difference versus ethanol gasoline. the mileage? I estimate it to be at least 30.5 per liter. hindi naman ako kaskasero, I maintain a speed of 50 km/h here in the provinces. also, bihira dito ang stop-go traffic so another notch for fuel efficient travelling. I haven't tried going up to baguio on regular fuel yet, I plan to go within this week.

I also plan to buy a gasoline container (5 liters) so that when I go on long trips where regular gasoline is scarce, I can just fill up with no hassle. ayaw ko ipaghalo ang unleaded and regular. ang laki kasi ng octane difference.

basta.. smoother na ang takbo ng regular on my scooter compared to unleaded and premium. I believe what the manufacturers intend is that 93 octane is the recommended but not required.

i'd rather put gasoline in my tank than ethanol mixed gasoline. hindi naman mausok ang scooter ko since I maintain it religiously.
