josol9
RED2018
Marathon running or Triathlon – Tolerance for pain and a lack of desire for the average person to participate were major factors here. Remember how miserable it was running the mile in middle school gym class? It’s only that 26.2 times. Football – Reckless abandon and risk of injury are certainly high in this sport. Much depends on the position you play and wearing pads helps prevent some injuries, but you still have to be plenty tough out there. Hockey – I gave hockey similar scores to football, but it edges ahead for two reasons. First, you can do much more damage with a stick and puck than a football, and second, fighting is very common and surprisingly condoned. Rugby – It was difficult to put rugby at two. It is more of a 1b. Rugby is as physical as any sport and participants don’t wear pads, which definitely earns them some toughness points. Having completely no regard for your body or well being pretty much sums it up. Boxing or MMA – What really got boxing the top spot was the lack of career length. It’s common to see boxers leave the sport in their prime because it’s just too much. Boxing received high marks for all categories, and like these other sports, it can result in some serious long-term injuries Quote Link to comment
ndn
I think combat sports like boxing and MMA are the most demanding not only physically but also mentally. All that hard training, dieting plus the thought of being beaten up senseless is no joke. Quote Link to comment
seanarcher
Boxing/MMA din para saken. You need the stamina of a triathlete, the mind of a chessmaster(syempre kelangan din ng diskarte), the reflexes of a pingpong player (you must be able to see the punch coming and dodge before it lands), the toughness of a football player (di pwedeng isang sapak bagsak ka) and the power of a ...wala na ko maisip na sport. hehehe Quote Link to comment
xtianmoran
1. MMA - after learning the discipline and techniques (which could take years) for both offense and defense, you have to develop the stamina to take the opponent's punch / hold without getting knocked out or submitting. 2. boxing - just like MMA but to a lesser degree because the feet are mainly for footwork / defense and cannot be used to hit your opponent. 3. soccer / football - how big is a soccer playing field? you get to run from end to end, play physical with your opponent, and in the end, the ENTIRE TEAM scores a point? talk about offense.  4. walkathon - one of the basic difference between walkathon and marathon is that the feet cannot leave the ground. have you seen their butts sway from side to side? same degree of difficulty as marathon in terms of distance but more physically demanding since a player has to "move fast" without getting to do what they normally should do. 5. chess - why you may ask? you stay in a room with no one else to talk to... worse is you get to play against a computer... wait for minutes and maybe hours to see a chess piece move a couple of inches... and you get to do that the rest of the day... can anyone say boredom?? if that aint physically compelling, i dont know what else is... xxxxdgnr8xxxx
one sport comes into mind. how about this? this game starts with participants as many as 8,773 (the most recorded). outdueling each other, decimated one by one. then lastly, going to the last table. facing off just one opponent. harnessing those skills and wits you acquired all throughout those nerve-wracking, mind draining weeks with a battle-tested exhausted body. and with ladyluck smiling, you confidently yell, "call" then the barker will shout out your name, handing you that mountainload of money. with that revered, most-coveted famous bracelet. the game is called the world series of poker. Quote Link to comment
