Tulak Or Batak?

That's only natural. FWD cars have to do two things (accelerating and steering) with one pair of wheels (the front). Hence the RWD purists' claim that the steering of their cars is purer and more natural. That's by design :)

Mid-engined cars like your Cayman tend to have less tolerance for "stupidity" behind the wheel. While all RWD cars have the tendency to spin out, mid-engined cars will tend to do so faster because all the weight is within the wheelbase and center of rotation/yaw---the reason why the Elise, NSX, Cayman and MR2 are so maneuverable. Such MR cars need quick-acting drivers when pushed to the limits, though, because of their inherent "naughtiness" compared to FRs.

Mind you, there are also understeery FR cars that take a little more effort to get sideways. Most of them are Nissans: the S13 Silvia and the Z33 350Z/Fairlady Z are notable examples. The Mazda RX-8 is another example but that's mainly because its Wankel engine doesn't make enough torque to get its tail out of line.

On the other end of the spectrum are "nervous" FRs like the Honda S2000, which steps into oversteer quicker than most people can avoid slamming a wall against. Committed driving in an S2000 reportedly needs a lot of preparation and practice.

FWD understeers a lot compared to RWD, unless you know how to use the e-brake in smooth action lang.. 4wd and awd cars rin also have the tendency to understeer since the front tires might spin during turns and loose traction.. i like rwd because it is easier to accelerate in turns than fwd that is prone to understeer when accelerating in turns.. i never tried the AWD drive or any wrc cars such as evo and sti.. but i heard that an evo can understeer while accelerating in a turn. then rwd may fish tail. but as ive experienced, it is easier to drive a RWD than FWD in corners.. nakakatakot ung understeer that ive experienced pababa ng antipolo..

..according to a japanese racer na napanood ko, RWD is fast in entering corners and good at the exit, AWD (STi tested) is slower in entering the corners since it's heavier but fast in the exit dahil sa power, FWD is slow in entering and harder to accelerate while doing a turn.. test drive nila un sa race track with tight turns. AWD is better kung medyo drift daw like rallying than track driving in a 2-3 lane turns sa track. pero the most important thing he said, malaking factor ung driver and how well you know your car.. but if pipili ako, id still choose RWD. FR dahil para hindi mabigat sa likod as long as the front mount engine is not to heavy dahil baka understeer din.

Actually I've found the mid-engine design to be easier to drive hard into a turn. Good front/real balance and a lower moment of inertia tends to make it more neutral in the turns. The rear-engined cars like the 997s tend to be more tail-happy. The front engine/rear drive cars are a bit light in the rear so you have to be careful to not let the rear end get light in the turns, even more so than in the mid-engine cars. Then for sure your rear end will whip around on you.

the difference of the two is that, kung old na yung car, ang rwd e umaangat ang harap pag biglang arangkada, ang fwd bumbagsak naman ang likod..it depends in racing. drifting & slalom maganda ang rwd..my friend said maganda fwd sa drag kasi yung bigat nasa harap, nagbibigay diin sa front wheels to give traction..dunno if true..

FWD is better than RWD in drag?? well all I can say about acceleration, mas maganda talaga acceleration ng RWD than FWD since when accelerating the weight is at the back that's why umaangat ang harap ng RWD dahil maganda arangkada while FWD is not able to do that dahil mawawalan ng traction ung front tires when accelerating too much. kaya ang RWD can take off in higher rpm than FWD dahil masmaganda kapit ng RWD. If you notice, during accelerating lahat ng cars bumabagsak ung likod, it's because ung weight ay nasa likod. Ask every mechanic or search the net if you want. That's why all sports cars are RWD or AWD.. basta may power lage sa rear.. look at F1, F3, even go karts.. they're all RWD..

when not running, yes the front tires have all the engine's weight, but when accelerating, the weight is transfered to the rear. It's the basic law of physics.. it's only psychological lang ung FWD is better. at ung pinapataas pa ung likod, watch mo ung mga pro drag racers and engineers, hindi nila pinapaangat likod, instead pinapababa ito for low center of gravity and rear support para hindi bumaba un likod that will make the front tires loose traction.. perhaps in weight better FWD, since FWD is lighter than RWD, but if una ka naman sa take off and have the same power, then you have the advantage since hindi nman ganon kalaki ung difference ng weight at hindi lang namn top speed ang habol mo when racing.

If you want more stability, go front wheel. If you want more power, go rear.

RWD doesn't necessary means more power.. but if you mean more power is better in RWD, I totally agree!

pag long driving kc, mas enjoi pag front kc mas maganda ang handling in contrast sa rear wheel na malaki ang turning radius

when it comes sa turning radius, depende na un sa steering ratio designed for the car, usually ang FWD ay mas bitin sa ikotan since may connection sa front wheels from the transmission kaya mas may complications unlike RWD.. and as for the high speed, ok naman RWD the only problem ay kung matigas LSD mo at mabigat sa gas paa mo, mapapansin mo agad lalo na sa bumps.. kung sa FWD naman medyo torque steer on bumpy roads especially sa high speed curves.. that's based on my experience.. not sure sa mga AWD sedans since sa states lang ako nakadrive ng awd sedan kaya all i can say is maganda lang tlg daan don.. dito you can notice the diff sa designs ng car right away on certain highways..
