damaso
brazil 2 italy 0 in a surprisingly entertaining friendly, brazil scored 2 beautiful goals. the first, a great passing move finished by elano. the second was even better. an incredible solo effort by robinho. both goals by man city players. under mark hughes, robinho has played well but has been inconsistent. elano, the star of last season, has had a terrible one this year. and jo didn't even play more than a handful of games, but had a spectacular debut with everton. maybe mark hughes doesn't jive well with brazilians... katana15
win or lose, the essence of being a liverpool fan is this. "you will never walk alone". liverpool is a club rich in tradition and will continue to be that way. being on the top 2 or 3 or EPL is an ahievement in itself. as to winning the EPL, well see. hopefully we will win it and CL glory. _eRon_
Hiddink confirms Blues role http://www.espnstar.com/football/premier-l...rms-Blues-role/ Russia coach Guus Hiddink has confirmed that he expects to be in charge of BPL giants Chelsea by the start of next week. Chelsea were quick to make their move for Hiddink after sacking Luiz Felipe Scolari on Monday. Hiddink is close to Blues owner Roman Abramovich, who helps finance his role with Russia. Now Abramovich has turned to Hddink to take Chelsea through to the end of the season. "It's to help out a friend. Abramovich is doing so much for Russian football and I want to do something back," Hiddink told Dutch Radio station 538. Hiddink will combine his domestic duties at Chelsea with his current role as Russia boss and he has few qualms about the dual role, which he has previous experience of when in charge of PSV Eindhoven and Australia. "At the end of March there are two qualification matches, then again in June. So it is possible and at the end of the English season it's over. 'Within a few days I will go to London. I expect to be on the pitch next week." Hiddink has given little thought to staying beyond the end of the current campaign. He said: "There are two scenarios: it goes bad and they say 'go back east' or it goes well, but I'm not thinking that far ahead." Quote Link to comment
_eRon_
Man United 1 Other Clubs 923 http://www.espnstar.com/football/news/deta...ther-Clubs-923/ Ever wondered how many managers have come and gone since Sir Alex Ferguson took over at Manchester United? Fergie took the reigns back in November 1986 and has since gone on to win tons of honours with the Red Devils. However, the same cannot be said of the other big English clubs as a whopping 923 managers have been hired and ousted in his 23 years stay. Cutting it down to bite size for our readers, a much smaller sum of 193 rival bosses from the 19 Premiership clubs currently in the top flight have been ousted from their seats while the Old Trafford head honcho is still going strong. damaso
both of my teams are looking good: barcelona with an away goal against lyon. altho i'm concerned with victor valdes' form - two bad errors in his last 2 games. still, 1-1 with the home leg at the nou camp is not a bad result at all. liverpool, to my pleasant surprise, wins 1-0 at real madrid. real madrid has been a different team under juande ramos. prior to the game, they lost to barca and then went on a 10 match winning streak. so liverpool, esp with their inconsistent form, winning away was unexpected.
