MANCHESTER UNITED win the 2008 Community Shield by beating Portsmouth 3-1 in Penalties (0-0 FT) :)

ManUtd should have scored mid-1st half but Fletcher scoffed the shot; early 2nd half we should've got a penalty when Heiradasson (tama ba spelling?hehe) pulled Tevez in the penalty box pero di inaward ng ref ang penalty..David James played great for Pompey; deflecting several shots for a shotout during regular time..Van Der Sar wasn't made to work during the game but he was superb during the penalty shootout; psyching out the Portsmouth players and deflecting 1 shot to bring the shield back to Old Trafford :)..Carlos Tevez was named Man of the Match :)

Glory Glory ManUtd!!! Incidently its the 100th Community Shield, ManUtd was the first team to win the shield nung 1908; sila ulit ang nanalo sa century mark ng Community Shield; Go ManUtd!! Go Red Devils!! :)

saw Crouch in his new Pompey Uniform. kakaiba, envisioned him in a red jersey, but now in a blue/gold jersey.

noticed the new partnership, defoe/crouch, not that effective yet. their midfield is usually doing the job.

with crouch in the team; what portsmouth need are quality wingers..they play a direct game which was more effective when they played a solitary striker with 5 midfielders to support, pompey have a great defensive pairing in campbell and distin, heiradasson and johnson are not too bad either; harry redknapp has a quality side right now...

Chelsea are set on signing AC Milan's Kaka

ManUtd have made a bid for Barsa's Thierry Henry for 20million pounds (??? :D)

Portsmouth sign Younes Kaboul from Tottenham

Sana makuna na ng ManUtd si Berbatov :)

Tottenham, theoretically speaking, looks like champs league side with big names all over the park. wont be surprised if they catch up and contend with the big 4.

sabi nga nung discussion about up and coming sides sa espn; tottenham will challenge for the final champions league spot next season; juande ramos is a great tactician and manager; the spurs will be an exciting side this coming season :)..

berbatov will be a manutd player in 48hrs; declared the bulgarian striker to his teammates at spurs ---> sana nga; he will be a welcome addition to the EPL champs; kitang-kita ang lack ng finishing sa game against Portsmouth sa Community Shield kasi wala si Rooney at C.Ronaldo; having berbatov gives manutd a big sturdy forward who's strong in air, can hold the ball up and finish if needed; a quality signing for me; good choice by sir alex :)

yey! EPL season na ulit! puyatan na nman to sa mga EPL at CL games; i hope ManUtd can defend their crowns well this season..

any olympic updates? napanuod ko 1st half ng game ng china vs brazil; lamang brazil 1-0 at the half :)

a lot of things do happen off the pitch, mas lalo na how management handle their side but at the end of the day its still that 90 mminutes on the pitch that'll matter. I know that it'll be hard for keegan to make good on his word that he will be contesting everton for fifth place in the epl. Man, for me that would be a fantasy in itself. To follow in the foot steps of leeds, definitely not, that is most unlikely, the club has been a main fixture in epl for years. My best hope for the club is to finish at the top half of the heap. 10 or 9th place, would be a great season for me.

And as a new season comes, there is also new hope that the big four wont be in their places at the end ofthe season. Last season was a giant for english football, but could one of the teams please contest arsenal n liverpool. If tottenham are the next ones, sana nga or maybe pompey, they did win the fa cup. Everton is always a serious contender to be one of the big boys. Hopefully this season we will see a changing of the guards.
