Two words Allan Shearer last night, i got physically drained as my mind was going over what would happen to transfers for newcastle. i was literally dreaming at what was going over the market. The first chance i got to check on the news was late tonight. And what i read, i couldnt believe it. I thoughr rhis must be a continuation of my dream. I'm not saying anything yet nor am i going to make any conclusions. I'm going to wait for nufc.co.uk to release word of confirmation. Whatever happens, I'll always be a Toon fan. duchessXI
Kevin Keegan has not been sacked as Newcastle United manager, according to a statement issued from St James' Park. Speculation has mounted all Tuesday that the Geordie idol had been sacked after a row over transfer policy with owner Mike Ashley and director Dennis Wise. However, United said: 'For the avoidance of doubt the Club has not sacked Kevin Keegan as manager.' when will owners/directors ever think that coaches/managers knows best. they have their own jurisdictions at their respective roles and shouldnt interfere with the works of the other. that is how mourinho left, and that is precisely how KK left. i could just imagine what Boss Ashley would be feeling like sitting in between and around the toon fans. i actually think he needs a facelift he wants to save his ass. biggyprox
annnnd the first one packing is kevin kee.... umm wait a minute, its alan curbishley of west ham! damn! the hammers have been a solid team, always menacing top flights. This is what makes the EPL so dynamic. I'm still hoping that the garbage in Newcastle gets resolved, Kevin Keegan is still the perfect man for the job, I still am anticipating how the team fares with him on the helm and with new signings to train, maybe a better Newcastle would emerge. Maybe in the following days, they'll see the light and get their act together. Quote Link to comment
bubuy
ayos ang transfer market, the best tlga ang EPL, ang dynamic ng league with its changes as well its style of play, astig ... yeah and with foreign owners taking over a lot of teams, i honestly believe this would lead to the demise of the EPL.. give it 6-8 years time.. remember you read it here first. biggyprox
guys, just a a question, i want to hear your comments. with the sudden investment of the abu dhabi united group and their very very deep pockets, do you think that this will become beneficial to the premier league and in general to the game itself? would these mean a more entertaining and dynamic pace of the game. How will players and clubs themselves benefit or demise from this seemingly infinite source of money? Quote Link to comment

How will players and clubs themselves benefit or demise from this seemingly infinite source of money? I think if the sudden influx of money in the BPL would be used properly, we could see the league go higher by being the "home" of the biggest names in the game, showcasing their talent week in and out (except during internationals week). Basicaly, the EPL will be the "home" of the who's who in the footie world therefore making it more entertaining to say the least. Another good reason would be, the increase of competitivity between the clubs. It has always been about ARS,CHE,LIV,MAN UTD (atleast in recent memory) it would be fun to see the likes of BLA,EVE,TOT,NEW heck even MANC to put on a good show and give the big 4 a run for thier money. And I don't belive money is infinite. Quote Link to comment
damaso
speaking of money, i wonder how much bunyodkor (or whatever that team in uzbekistan is called) is paying rivaldo? they offered eto'o $30million a year...it has to be a pretty hefty sum considering rivaldo got offers from the mls and australia as well. imagine living in uzbekistan over the us and australia? at first, i thought, my favorite player is a joke now - playing in uzbekistan. but then i thought if i were in his shoes, i'd do the same: go for the money. twilight of his career, might as well make the most of it. _eRon_
Italy, Germany, Crotia, Portugal, England win their World Cup qualifiers but Argentina draw with Paraguay, 1-1, while France suffer a disastrous 3-1 loss to Austria, ranked 101 in the world, patay na nman ang French hehehe having rich owners in the epl doesn't really change anything, it just makes the league more exciting because they're will be more influx of great talent but what still matters is which 11 players play the best together, for example chelsea, ac milan, liverpool, barcelona, and real madrid have lots of cash but chelsea, ac milan, liverpool and barcelona did not win a trophy last year (correct me if i'm wrong please ) and real madrid won la liga but lost to sevilla in the spanish super cup final and recently lost to numancia in their opening match; having lots of money is great but great leadership, chemistry and teamwork are still keys for success.. great point redshirt, now several teams in the EPL are emerging to challenge for the top4 places of the league, eventhough Spurs and Blackburn are having a disastrous start, both teams have great potential for success, other teams who I think will be challenge this season are Portsmouth, Middlesborough and Manchester City..Bottom clubs Sunderland, Hull City, and Wigan Athletic are also playing great football early in the season Edited September 6, 2008 by _eRon_ Quote Link to comment
