The Football Thread

It has been said somewhere that the presence of foreign owners in the EPL has transformed the way English football is played. I think it was Keane, former ManU midfield talisman who said that the game has somehow lost its passion (he was comparing it to the ManU vs Arsenal derbies when he was slugging it out with Viera) and it is now played in a more corporate atmosphere. Foreign owners in the article would prefer to stay in the background and would rather dictate the club's vision and mission the way Laporta does with Barca (although he is just the club's president). Hence, the ideal owners would be ManU's Glazers. They generally stay in the background, keep their egos in check and keep the checkbook balanced. Ibrahimovic probably prefers the limelight. :)

natalo ang dalawang team na dapat mananalo!!

Engalnd and Scotland. Baka mawalan ng representative ang GBR sa Euro 2008. :(

Malamang Soctland lang ang rep ng UK...Scotland's fate is still within their hands (all they need to ensure is beat Italy in their next game)...well for England they need to beat Croatia dn then hope that Russia will draw or be beaten by Israel (yeah rught...parang nagdadasal ka na mag snow sa pinas)...medyo sinisisi pa rin nila ung "plastic pitch" sa Russia....

Ibrahimovic?...di ba player un?....Besides Abramovic wala namang foreign owner ang nakikialam sa coach nila sa EPL...dati meron pang isa kaso lumipat na sa Championship..dunno whether you guys heard of Milan Mandaric...he used to own Portsmouth..but he sold out to another Russian billionaire...he now owns Leicester..where again he recently fired the manager for "footballing" differences
