i like the new look man city, but not because of its owner.

i watched sevilla-getafe, and again, impressed ako with sevilla. kanoute is class. and duda or dida or whatever his name is, (plays on the left wing), was incredible.

barcelona is finally in action tomorrow...

dapat naman si Iker ang RM #1.

defence parin ang weakness ng RM....

JUV 5-1 PAL

Iker should still definitely be the #1 keeper for Madrid...anyway, does anyone know what jersey kit number the current madrid players wear? Also, what local channel in the Philippines televises la liga? Meron pa ba sa solar sports?

last year, they had 5 Brazilian players. now they only have 2 at the start of the season.

I didn't know Baptista returned to them from Arsenal. I thought Wenger would keep him after Henry left...

Thanks, Man! It's still transfer season, di ba? Until August 31, right? Anyway, any more suprises in the transfer market?

medyo rocky nga ang start ng ManUtd this season, with only 5pts after 4games, Chelsea is on top with 10pts already..well, mahaba pa nman ang season&madami pa pwde mangyari, sana wala ng mainjure pa sa mga players ng ManUtd..losing Heinze was a big blow for ManUtd, he was a consistent, hard tackling defender, he is a terrific leftback, too bad he left for Real Madrid..

msg nyo ko pag nagsale yun jersey ng ManUtd sa nike, ha? gusto ko din bumili :)..

Link to comment

heinze left because he was not first team anymore.. he was supplanted by vidic in the starting XI..

pero ang duda ko baka ibenta sya ng real sa liverpool or player exchange.. although i would prefer he stay.. sana kunin ng real si daniel alves ng sevilla!!! la naman kasi kwenta si salgado..

yeah, you're right. i guess nowadays you really have to keep busy on the transfer market. but i do think last season was successful, i mean they haven't won any trophy for years till last year. but then again, i'm a barca fan. so who am i to say?

i was just shocked cause when i watched the supercopa 2nd leg against sevilla, it was a totally different team. even guti, who i think was the inspiration during the last stretch of their title run last year, did not start. and now even more players are coming in.

anyway...i'm very interested on how barcelona's first eleven will look. i cant imagine rijkaard sacrificing xavi, iniesta or deco so he can play the "fantastic four" all together. well, i'll just have to wait and see...

well, i'm still envious of your gabi milito signing.. i read somewhere that milito was ready to sign with real madrid back in 2005 but he supposedly failed the medical.. there are also reports that RM was ready to buy alexandre pato midseason (winter transfer window) last campaign for a mere 2 million euros (pato's agent and team already agreed for the transfer fee) but the RM board hesitated.. instead he went to milan now for 18M euros!!! what a discount that would've been for real had they snapped him up last year..

Real wins against Atletico!

looks like Schuster is really bringing attacking football back to the Bernabeu...

13 shots on goal in one game.. if capello was the manager, they would've accomplished that in 3 games.. hehe..

not a good win...

athletico scored on the first minute!!! wtf?!! and casillas hindi si dudek goalkeeper...

it's still 3 points.. :thumsbupsmiley: casillas is understandably the #1.. he is spanish, playing for the spanish giants and he is also the national team #1.. dudek will be hardpressed to snatch the position in training camp.. what is good about the dudek signing is that hindi na pwede na lelembot lembot si casillas in front of goal.. mga 3-4 bad games from him, may justification na si dudek ang magstart.. unlike last year, kahit ang haba na ng bad stretch ni casillas, no choice sila..

Sevilla footballer Puerta dies following heart attack

http://www.soccerway.com/news/2007/August/...g-heart-attack/

Written by: AFP

MADRID (AFP) - Sevilla's Spanish international defender Antonio Puerta died on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack during a Spanish league match on Saturday, the Spanish football federation (RFEF) told AFP.

"It's official. Puerta has died," a RFEF spokesman told AFP.

The 22-year-old had been in "very critical" condition in the intensive care unit of Seville's Virgen del Rocio hospital where he had been hooked up to a life support machine, the hospital said earlier in a statement.

Puerta, a star in Seville's successful UEFA Cup defence last season and the club's top three league finish, collapsed after half an hour of Sevilla's 4-1 win over Getafe on the opening day of the Spanish season.

He was able to walk gingerly to the dressing rooms where he collapsed a second time before being taken to hospital.

Puerta is not the first footballer to die of a heart attack.

In January 2004 Benfica's Hungarian international striker Miklos Feher died during a Portuguese league match from a heart attack.

Seven months earlier Cameroon international Marc-Vivien Foe collapsed and died while playing in the Confederations Cup tournament in France.

Earlier Tuesday, the hospital had said: "The clinical evolution of the patient is unfavourable," citing prolonged cardiac arrest which had damaged Puerta's organs and led to a lack of oxygen to the brain.

The Spanish Football League (LFP) announced that next Monday's league match between Sevilla and Osasuna had been postponed as a mark of respect.

"The Spanish professional league wishes to pass on its most sincere condolences to the family of Antonio Puerta of Sevilla and to all connected with Sevilla," the LFP said in a statement.

"The LFP has declared an official day of mourning for the next round of matches and has asked all affiliated clubs to maintain a minute's silence before games," the statement concluded.

Sevilla also immediately sent a request to European football's governing body, UEFA, for Tuesday's Champions League return leg against AEK Athens in Greece to be postponed.

It was not immediately clear if the request had been granted.

Puerta's reputation had blossomed in recent months with Sevilla's European runs - they also won the UEFA Cup in 2006 - and according to recent British media reports both Arsenal and Manchester United of the English Premiership had run the rule over the youngster.

West Ham in talks to sign Brazil star Adriano

http://www.soccerway.com/news/2007/August/...l-star-adriano/

Written by: AFP

LONDON (AFP) - West Ham have made an approach to sign Inter Milan's out-of-favour striker Adriano on loan.

The Premier League club were reported to have sent chief executive Scott Duxbury to Milan on Tuesday to start talks with the Brazilian.

Adriano has been told he can leave the Serie A champions and had already been offered to Arsenal, who turned down the chance to sign him.

West Ham have invested heavily in the transfer market since Eggert Magnusson took over the club last season, and the attempt to sign such a famous name is further evidence of the Icelandic businessman's determination to take the Hammers into the game's upper echelons.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger decided that Adriano would not improve his squad despite the pre-season sale of Thierry Henry to Barcelona.

"I was offered Adriano on loan and I said no," Wenger said. "We do not need him and it was an easy decision to make because we're not out there to sign another striker.

"The agreement was for a loan. Adriano has qualities we don't need. They wanted to give us a player but wanted one back in return.

"I won't say who it was. I didn't want to lose the player they requested. I didn't necessarily think Adriano would upset the balance of the squad."

Condolences to the family of Antonio Puerta of La Liga's Sevilla. He was a good player, only 22, died of multiple organ failure due to prolonged cardiac arrest after fainting on the field. Hope this would be an inspiration to Sevilla football club to get the La Liga Cup this season.
