asmodeus
I find the movie "MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING" starring and written by Nia Vardalos as one of the more hilarious movies I have watched ...... The movie is mainly centered around a greek-american woman who falls in love with an american teacher much to the disapproval of her father who wants her to marry a greek man. Though most of the characters in the film are greeks, you can put in a different race into the characters like indian, chinese or filipino ...... the storyline will more or less come out just the same. From what I know, the film was made on a measly 5 million dollar budget during 2002 (small price compared to those high budget action filsm) but was a whopping hit around the globe as it hit more than 300 million dollars in gross sales.
