Hello! 10k runner here.

hello din! :)

well, mahal na nga talaga tumakbo ngayon. :(

This I definitely want to try

cge go! try lang ng try :)

How do I get into this? May specific training ba dapat?

First get a good pair of running shoes suited for your foot. You can go to a reputable running specialty store and have a gait analysis done where they will check the foot arch and recommend a type of shoe designed your gait. If you have the wrong shoe, you'll have problems later on- aching feet, ankles, knees, or hips.

If you're starting from zero, begin by walking first.

Walk for 30mins, then rest for a day.

Next session, walk for 3mins then run slowly for 1 min. Repeat 7 times. Rest for a day.

Next session walk for 2mkns then run slowly for 2 mins. Repeat again 7 times then rest for a day.

Next session, walk for 1mins then run slowly for 3 mins. Repeat 7 times thrn rest for a day.

Next session, run slowly for 30 mins.

Now you have a baseline for running speed which is your slow run.

Gradually increase your speed but keep it at around 30mins. As you gain speed and dont feel tired after the run, you can now lengthen the run time, or go by distance. 30mins slow run will be around 3.5-4kms run already. If your targetting to join a 5km fun run, get your endurance up to running 45mins to 1hour then you should be fine and enjoy the 5km event.

Please remember to rest a day in between run days to allow your body to adjust and recover.

In running, having the right form is very important. Read up on Chi running or the Pose method to give you a good idea on the proper running form. The gist of these two styles is that the foot has to land in line with the body's center of gravity so that the middle of the foot lands flat on the ground. If your heel strikes the ground first, it does two things- shocks your knee and slows you down as you are breaking the body's forward momentum. So lean forward on your ankles and let your body fall forward. Move your leg and foot forward and let it touch the ground under your chest (center of gravity) so it lands midfoot first and let your body move forward and repeat the sequence.

Hope this helps.

Ano maganda shoes mga sir? may differences ba?

Depende sa paa mo. For running, the right shoe is critical, dahil pag na-injure ka dahil mali ang sapatos mo, di mo na magugustuhan ang pagtakbo.

You can go to: http://www.myprecisionfit.com ng Mizuno, or http://www.brooksrunning.com/en_us/ShoeFinder ng Brooks para mas malaman mo ang klase ng paa mo.

Also, any half-way decent running shoe store will have FREE gait analysis (eto yung may treadmill at patatakbuhin ka habang vini-video ang paa mo para makita ang klase ng paa mo). Take advantage of this (LIBRE NAMAN), Eto talaga ang pinakamagandang paraan para malaman ang foot type mo.

Personally, I prefer Altra [https://www.altrarunning.com/] (dahil malaki ang paa ko, but only two shoe stores supply Altra (A Runner's Circle, Aloha Hotel, Quirino cor. Roxas Blvd.; and The Brick Multisport Store, Woodridge Apts., Upper McKinley Hill, Taguig).

Don't hesitate to splurge on the shoes (budgetan mo ng P4k - P7k), AND ENSURE THAT THEY FIT PROPERLY. Generally, you get what you pay for. Cheap price gets you cheap shoes, but an expensive shoe, if they don't fit properly, is worse.
