The running line was clear and accurate. Distance was below 20k. Noticable na walang tubig nung start nang 21k. Ung pocari eh sarado nung 21k start. Naubos na ung mahiwagang kamote kong baon below 15k. Naghahanap na ako nang saging eh wala na. Tapos ung marshalls eh hindi pimupulot ung nalaglag na sagig sa kalsada. Nagtetext ang bruha. Kung me madapa duon, classic! I like the short haired marshal sa may river/tulay hehehe. But i really liked the white chinita girl wearing the yellowcab jersey. Naabutan ba ninyo nung sumablay yung mga MC. Hindi alam ung pangalan or at least pronunciation nang charity event nila. The name of the charity was ka-i-sa-ka. Yung mga slang na MC eh KAY-ZA-KA daw. Hindi pa yata NSL yung pangalan, pero alam ko yun din yon. Total distance nung 2012 ay 19.7km lang- may 6% discount. Congrats pa rin on your run. Buti naman enjoy kayo at nabusog sa mga "tanawin". I belonged to the top 100 runners (out of 304) BUT I still don't hear organizers owning up to the fact that mali ang distance nila. Kung alam ko lang na 3k na lang at hindi 5 k ung bubunuin ko eh di hindi na sana ako naglakad. tsk tsk tsk. Personally I consider this an 18 kilometer Run. In any case enjoy naman ako. and I did achieve sub1 based on my GPS watch. I shaved off nearly 8 minutes from my best time before I got my Heart rate monitor. My next goal is sub2 for a REAL 21k distance Things I need to improve for my REAL 21k Run 1. stamina and nutrition. Next time I prefer not to start walking.It was so hard to get back jogging and keep jogging after I started to walk. 2. Cut my toe nails. My big toe is still hurting today.3. Find better insole cushioning and/or socks. The round ball like bone directly below my big toes were starting to chafe after the 15k mark. 4. Strengthen my joints near the pelvis. It also started getting sore on the 15k mark. 5. Hydrate 2x more and eat twice as much. This way I don't lose steam. 6. Get more sleep. Sobra nerbiyos ko nung gabing iyon mga 3 hours lang tulog ko. 7. Stop using that pesky hydration belt on marathons. It was irritating as hell .Might as well go back to my handheld and buy one of those bottles that you slip inside your compression shorts. I was so impressed with it i asked the guy in front of me ano brand yun. Simple hydration daw. BTW. How long do I need to recover to join another 21k? I really wanted to run a real 21k distance after 1 month. sayang kasi sa 10k 100 difference lang. Hanap na lang ak scalpers or ung mga ma injury hehehehe Ako man nagulat sa time ko for 18k. Siyempre laking pasasalamat ko sa dalawang nasa harap ko na chicks at ung umovertake sa akin na matandang naka orange longsleeves at yellow/green vest. isip isip ko...kaya nang dalawang chicks.... kaya nang nasa edad 70 up. Lintek papaiwan ba ako! Halimaw ung matandang naka orange na longsleeves! hindi ko nahabol. Ayos pala ung heart rate monitor. Kitang kita mo kung kaya mo pa tumakbo or slow down ka na. This is for long runs minimum of 21k. This poped up at around 15k sa NSL. Advisable ba na bilhin ko ung mga foot pads na malalambot? Tsaka tama ba ang gusto kong gawin from this point forward. I'll keep a minimalist pair for 10k runs, say a brooks pureconnect. And a fully cushioned pair for longer runs, say a brooks ghost 5. Quote Link to comment

Confusedcius, kung chafing lang, use petroleum jelly or anti-chafing cream/lotion on the affected area of your foot. Chafing is usually from moisture and friction. Pag-abot mo sa 30-42km or higher, you'll learn to love PJ, body glide, and all sorts of anti-chafing lotions. Some things you take for granted until you first get them: Chaffed nipples! Chaffed singit! Chaffed armpits! Pero panalo talaga yung sa nipples. Wala pa ako time para magscan ng pics pero mukhang interesting yung hinabol mong runners. hehehe 1 Quote Link to comment

I'm not sure I can handle 42k with only 1 month training. But 21k is possible. Kaso magastos kasi I have to stay overnight to acclimatize. Maganda daw ang race course, good scenery, fresh air. Here's my FR for the PSE Bull Run: Route: 9/10 - new route and they even started to take the kalayaan flyover habang mainit pa ang mga runners. Hydration: 9/10 - Almost 1.5km e meron hydration Security: 7/10 - Good enough pero iba pa din ang mga big organizers like Rio Race Kits: 8/10 - Ganda ng quality ng singlets and finisher's + the medal Overall: 8/10 - Definitely join next year!
