Droidz1979
It's official, you could run at night in Palaris and it ain't that dark and its quite safe too.. Too bad running ain't the same for me without NU 107.5, have to make-do with other stations that play a bit of Bieber in between **grins** Quote Link to comment

Droidz1979
What do you think is the best running shoe in the market today Depends on your budget and fashion preference.. Personally, i prefer New Balance running shoes.. protects my feet, they're durable and i could wear them for other occasion other than running. Quote Link to comment

Agree ako sa New Balance, Personally I prefer Saucony, but I dont think its available in the Philippines. I had one before, a gift, and it served me very well on running cross-country. Does anyone have a calendar of marathon events for 2011? 1 Quote Link to comment
b_9904
Wow, meron din pala dito hehehe may tanong lang po ako. sana may makasagot. Question about the gait analysis staff of Runnr:Why didn't they measure my pronation? I mean Runners World says that a 15 degree pronation is normal. So any more than 15 degrees and you are an over-pronator. But the staff at Runnr just looked at the video without measuring the pronation nor checking whether i have lots of sideways movement. He just saw a pronation and told me i need stability shoes. I'm pretty sure I supinate coz my old running shoes wore MORE on the outside rather on the inside. The insides of my old running shoes look good as new or with little or no wear. The same could be said for all of my shoes (leather, casual, etc). I didn't wanna bother the staff much since i was just checking the place out for my brother, who has knee pains when he runs but shouldn't they be more thorough with these kinds of stuff? PS: I also run din po. track din dati. and planning to run Goldilucks' Fun Run in 20 days. Edited April 24, 2011 by b_9904 Quote Link to comment
b_9904
What do you think is the best running shoe in the market today You could try Asics or Brooks. Maganda review ng dalawa sa mga sites. Though, you have to qualify muna... ano kaba? pronator, supinator, o neutral? if hindi mo alam nandyan Runnr at Secondwind. though hindi ko alam kung meron pang iba. Ask around nalang. Guest schinina
I wonder why we don't have a running thread here. I was supposed to start this thread in health and fitness but wth this should be in the sports board. So tell me...1. How long have you been running?2. What are your running essentials?3. What's your next race? Current PR?4. Your running goals.5. What made you decide to run?Sorry so many questions. Haha. Feel free to post away runners! Quote Link to comment
Guest schinina
1. I'll be celebrating my first year anniv with running on September and will be celebrating it by shifting to another category 15k!2. Aside from shoes. Sunblock. Sunvisor. Shuffle. 3. Next race is Rexona Run! Current PR 1hr and 12 min in 10k.4. Current running goal is to do Half Mary on Condura Run!5. Not really sporty and athletic at all but I wanted to start getting active, decided to run because in running you just run - no special skills needed, no need to learn this and that but as time goes by you'll eventually learn there's a proper form pala, there's economy running pala etc. etc. Edited July 10, 2011 by schinina Quote Link to comment

floppydrive
1. How long have you been running?-1 and a half years 2. What are your running essentials?-less than 15km: running shoes, shorts, shirt, HRM + GPS watch-more than 15km: all of the above plus water belt 3. What's your next race? Current PR?-none planned yet. Runs are getting expensive, so have to choose which ones to join. Besides, having a GPS watch gives you the freedom to run any course and let it tell you how well you're doing. It tells you the distance covered, time and running pace. No need for marshalls or race organizers. But running in a race with plenty of participants gives you an adrenaline rush and better race results.-5km: 0:30; 10km: 1:08; 15km 1:49 Still have lots of room for improvement 4. Your running goals.-finish 21km in less than 2:30mins by December 2011.-go for a full marathon within the next 2 years. 5. What made you decide to run?-Health reasons. Running reduces blood pressure, blood sugar, uric acid and a whole lot of other stuff that if one were sedentary, he'd have to take so much medicine. Running is relatively cheaper than popping pills to keep the body healthy. Quote Link to comment
