Alrighty, so one day, i decided to try this new prepaid card I saw that was offfering 25 hours for Php 100.

 

I got one and immediately logged on. At first it was just a respectable 26.4 kbs so it wasn't much to write about. But while I was surfing, I noticed my network traffic slowly clogging up until I could hardly load pages anymore. Around that time I noticed an increasing series of pop-ups and other symptoms typical of spyware.

 

I immediately Dc'd, then ran Adaware, Spybot and Ewido + Avg. Dear lord! my Pc was infected with atleast a dozen! including several trojans! Freaking hell. At first I thought it was just my bad luck so I clean everything and logged back on to the net. Lo and behold! still the same problem. Clogged network, spyware downloads,etc. All to no avail.

 

Since i was tired of all this i opted to reformat my hard drive using killdisk. No program was left alive.

 

So i reinstalled my windows, etc.

 

I used the same card to log on to the net.

 

BAM! Spyware, Trojans within the first five minutes of logging in. And i was just connecting to the Microsoft webpage.

 

Take note everyone, before I used this card I didn't have anything of this magnitude happen to me. It all started with me using this card. A fresh, clean install of Windows XP with SP3, and it still bombed me with spyware.

Meron nga akong nakitang ganyan... Pinamimigay daw sa school ng utol ko kapalit ng lumang (walang laman) internet card.

 

buti na lang di ako nagpaka cheap. Hehehe...

I used to work sa 2 Different ISP Company before, hindi ko na lang babanggitin ang name nila. But one thing i observed. much cheaper ISP much unsecure. As of now for economic reasons marami sa pinas ang gumagamit ng cheap ISP card. Hindi naman masama kasi merong mura talaga for some reason. Like ehto Surfmaxx meron silang unlimited kaso tuwing offpeak nga lang. Ang reason kaya mura kasi that time konti lang gumagamit so they sale that connection time in much cheaper rates katulad ng Phonecalls diba. As we know na Surfmaxx is sub-company ng Pacific Internet isa sa leading ISP sa pinas(2003 pa yung info na yan sensya na kasi tagal na rin akong ala sa Pinas) Pero meron ding colorum na ISP sila yung as in napakamura tapos pag tumawag ka sa technical support nila either busy kasi andaming complain or walang sumasagot kasi nde sila nagprovide ng personnel, number lang ng technical support ang provided nila. I know this kasi mismong costumer narin ang nagsasabi samin via phone call na kesyo yung isang nabili nila is worst ang service. Oist nde ako nagwowork sa colorum na ISP ha. i just met one of their personel. I dont know kung existing pa sila. naging frend ko pa yung operator nila as in lahat sa kanya sya din naghahandle ng phone calls. 2001 ang rate nila is 1500pesos per month. unlimited na yun. so imagine nung 2001 ang pinakamurang internet is 20hours per 100pesos. well kung gusto mo ng much secure dun ka na sa hindi colorum or medyo mahal na rates. :mtc:

wow. may ganung cases pala sa prepaid internet cards. dinaan sa spyware huh. bad yun. tsk tsk tsk.

Guys, can you add up some infos on ISPs here in the Philippines? Gusto ko kasi magpalit ng internet e kaso wala akong alam. If ever please include the link for their website. Currently eto ang alam kong mga internet access providers saten:

Try Destiny cable with internet, i think only 999. My friend got tired of smart and replace it with destiny. he gets as much as 2M download speed, but only around 384Kbs upload. But still it's the best service he had comapred to smart
