mamangkantutero
@night strider: Loosely speaking, yes. Opera music is considered a sub-genre within classical music (but it's more like a form rather than a sub-genre of classical music..."form", as in yung klase ng music gaya ng symphony, song, piano study/etude etc.) @manny a. quito: Nice selection! Gusto ko din kantahin yang pyesang iyan. Di ko nga lang abot hehehe. Maganda rin yung lyrics...magandang pang-harana sa babae lalo na kung mahilig sa classical music yung bebot Quote Link to comment

mamangkantutero
Jussi Bjorling was somewhat the Pavarotti/Domingo/Carreras of his time. If not the best, at least he's one of the best. Too bad current generations of classical music enthusiasts are missing out on the great singers of old. But thanks to Youtube and torrents, we haven't lost those singers entirely, maski na si Caruso Quote Link to comment
grappelli
Sir, what's the frequency? Sorry for late reply; it's 98.7 Mhz Quote Link to comment

grappelli
Too bad I can't attend the coming concert of violinist Joseph Esmilla in Cebu City this November 12. It ought to be recorded for lovers of classical music and future Pinoy classical musicians. http://ph.yfittopostblog.com/2010/11/08 ... sic-in-ph/ Edited November 9, 2010 by grappelli Quote Link to comment

grappelli
Sir, what's the frequency? Btw, the station is run by a certain religious sect, Christian but not Catholic, so the programming is interpersed with some short Bible readings and low-key homilies. Anyway, they are unobtrusive and they serve to temper our hedonistic and concupiscent pursuits. Edited November 10, 2010 by grappelli Quote Link to comment

At least, we get to listen to God's word, a welcome relief from daily immersion to our worldly desires! Quote Link to comment
mamangkantutero
@manny a. quito: If I'm not mistaken, the correct term is "created", so...Herr Tauber created the role that sang "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz" Maganda rin yung rendition niya, although of course the ending isn't like how contemporary tenors sing it (i.e. ends with a high A, not a D). Glad there's a recording of this song from the original singer Quote Link to comment
