took it sa mapua...before i enrolled sa mapua,nag i install na ako ng routers at switches..just need to get the basics para sa exam,pero hands on experience on LAN and WAN. 2-3 YEARS EXPERIENCE na ako,at present working as network administrator sa isang GOCC. still routers switches and everyday na kinakalikot ko,including the avaya voip server. self studying for CCNP na ako

 

Galing mo naman dude! actually wala talaga akong hands on actual experience on LAN and WAN...(P2P pa lng alam ko! hehehe!)kac CSR work ko! dats why kuha ako networking course sa Informatics...evrything im learning ryt now is purely basics! isa sa mga pinupurse ko maging server/network admin tulad mo...btw ilang taon ka na nung naging Net Admin? is it necessary Cisco certified para maging Server Admin? Im Asking for ur precious advice, dude! Daghang Salamat! :flowers:

with your present work,just make the most out of it. mahirap mag gamble changing job that could actually let you handle actual routers,switches and other networking equipments,practice practice ka lang through simulation,pero kung desidido ka talaga na lumipat at makaranas handling actual equipments,or gusto mo maging net admin. kailangan mo mag certify para mas solid ang resume at kailangan din yung skill mo. already interviewed by AT&T. Basic questions lang,how to do password recovery,step by step on switch at router,upgrading ios ng router,routing protocols and stuff....ganun ang questions nila for teir 1 support. tier 2 and 3 different story na yun. 1 year palang ako as net admin,disgrasya lang na napunta ako sa present work ko,since we used to go to corporate clients ng PLDT,madalas madaming nag o offer ng work,what i did eh namili na lang yung may best offer :-)

Thanks for those precious advice, Master. actually magttapos na ako sa module 1 sa Informatics and still very shallow pa rin mga natutunan ko. iba talaga pag na experience mo mag install, configure and etc... i hope after matapos ko lahat2x ng modules ko makahanap ako ng work na related sa pinag-aaralan ko, kahit first step ng isang network admin, kahit taga terminate lng ng patch cord and connector.hehehe! btw marami na bang mga CCNA dito sa Pinas? magkano starting ng isang Server/Network Admin? Karagdagan tanong lng poh..

pre madami ng CCNA ngayon..kasi yung ccna modules ino offer na sa mapua,dlsu as elective sa mga COE,ECE students nila. that was 3 - 4 years ago pa nag start..so expect mas madami na ngayon.competition sa market padami na ng padami,so experience comes in na dyan kung pare pareho akyong Certified na..meron naman kasing mga certified na " by the book" lang ang alam at walang actual exprience sa routers..believe me madaming ganun hehehe

di dapat bababa sa 30k..pero again depende sa experience,skill at knowledge mo sa ina applayan mo at most important kung kaya ka pa swelduhin ng companies sa asking mo hahaha

gusto ko din mag aral ng networking pero gusto ko magsimula sa basic, ung hindi CISCO routers ang gamit...... SAEKI pwede ka ba personal trainer ko? hehehe..

check mo sa trends and technologies kung may opening sila..service provider sila..nag bebenta din ng routers and other networking stuff..usually hanap nila eh yung may background at training sa networking. nature ng job,pag may nabenta na equipment..sila din ang support..so expect na pupunta punta ka sa customer at for sure hands on ka sa mga equipments,installation,configuration etc etc

guys try dynamips maraming tutorials online on how to install. Maraming Cisco IOS din na pwede ma download. Dynamips load the actual IOS so it is like running the actual routers with just virtual connections

i dont have experience configuring BGP. OSPF po gamit namin na routing protocol sa mga CE routers namin sa office at sa head office..mga telco na din ang nag insert ng OSPF sa MPLS network nila

multiple dlink access points lang,kaso kailangan mo i set ng maayos para walang overlapping sa frequency,kasi with 200 users di kaya ng konting Access point yan

 

 

hindi sa wala akong confidence sa dlink, pero kung 150-200 ang user, mas maganda kung mag cisco AP ka na rin dahil mas malaki ang memory in comparison. also its stable specially sa medium enterpises.
