jobim
What's your experience with MyDestiny internet? I want to know what others experience because I can't believe how bad their service is to our condominium, and I don't know if it's the same with other subscribers. I don't know about the quality of MyDestiny cable internet, but their DSL service is really bad. My subscription started about a month ago and until today, my internet bandwidth has never reached anything close to the promised 512kbps bandwidth. Most of the time, I just get close to dial-up speed - just around 50kbps! And it often drops to lows of 10kbps! This is the Php1,688 unlimited plan. There have been a few days when I get a couple of hours of decent bandwidth - around 100kbps, but that's the best I've seen since I've subscribed. I've called their technical support countless times and I get the same response everytime - that their going to check the problem or their going to send somebody to the condo to fix/replace the main modem where each subscriber in the condo is connected. But there has been no improvement in the slightest, whatsoever. I already sent an email to their technical support, help desk, and tech support supervisor, but it's been a few days and there's been no reply. Once I get subscription from another provider, I will definitely have Mydestiny cut and ask for a full refund. Quote Link to comment
artvader
myDestiny was my first broadband ISP. I'm using myDSL now. service sucks big time. my biggest complaint with them, as is your's is their technical support that doesn't do anything. later on, I switched to BellTel cuz they were offering the same benefits as myDestiny. While their customer care is very superb, I cannot say the same for their repair team (they use the same repair team as myDestiny). So basically their customer care would always follow up if there were any problems with my connection, only to be bogged down by myDestiny's reapir crew. In the end I had enough and just went with myDSL... though not the best technical support, at least the connection is active 90% of the time. Quote Link to comment

jobim
1st time i heard of this, how bout your cable tv? bad signal too? it should... and how bout other subscriber in the same bldg. how are they fairing??<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I have an officemate who's subscribed to Mydestiny cable internet. At first he wasn't satisfied because he wasn't getting the speed he needed, but now, the bandwidth has improved. But that's cable internet. My subscription is DSL. My cable TV is also provided by Destiny, and I have no qualms there. Cable internet is not available in our condo, and I don't understand why. That's why they offered the DSL connection. And the connection is soooo slow most of the time. Earlier when I got home, the bandwidth was less than 10kbps! It has improved to a around 100kbps just now, that's why I'm able to login to manilatonight. I'm sure that later, speed will get back to dial-up speed. It's like this everyday. I read in another forum a post by another Mydestiny DSL subscriber who lives in another condo, and his complaints are very similar to mine. I guess Mydestiny's problems are with just their DSL service in condominiums. I have a hunch that all subscribers in our condo share just two broadband conntections. Mydestiny tech cupport mentioned that there are 2 main modems in the condo's admin office, and that's where all subscribers here are connected. If that's true then this setup really sucks. They shouldn't have done that. Each subscriber pays P16,000+/month for this service. DSL connections are supposed to be stable for a single subscriber, whereas cable internet speeds will vary depending on the number of users connected. But cable internet's maximum bandwidth is much faster. But if multiple users share a single DSL line, then speed and stability will suffer. At least that's how I understand it. Quote Link to comment
jobim
Oops, that's supposed to be P1,600+/month, not P16,000+/month. Quote Link to comment

jobim
Swerte mo. squall22
hmm siguro it depends sa location... actually em office ren kz sa mlpet sa bndang lugar nmin.. nirefer ko tita ko sa destiny pra mgmet ko ung promo nila n mging 999 ang payment ko kz 1.6k per month now im only paying 999 each month witha speed not less than 300 kbps Quote Link to comment
jobim
It is, most probably, the location. If that's the case then they made a incompetent job in setting up the connections in our area, and probably didn't even do proper testing that any other right-minded person would do. A few days ago the connection speed actually improved, I was getting decent speed (200+ kbps for a few days), although still a far cry from the supposed 512kbps. I actually thought that things were improving, but suddenly, just this morning, the connection stopped. No internet at all. If you can give me a number I can call other than customer service, where I can to to someone with more authority, I would appreciate it. Quote Link to comment
jobim
Eto nanaman po! Another few days of decent internet speed, about half of the promised 512kbps, then when I got home from work earlier, ayun! Wala nanamang internet! Down for more than 1 hour. Quote Link to comment
jobim
To all MTC members, take it from my experience. DONOT SUBSCRIBE TO MYDESTINY! TaguroNakamura
FYI guys yung network kasi ng MyDestiny is Uncapped unlike the PLDT or other ISP naka CAP per user dito sa MYDestiny nde everyone is sharing the bandwidth. Hehehe! got another tip na malaki savings if you have destiny internet... you can get Free Cable... Trade secret to pero i can tell you guys syempre trade din ehehhe! Oo nga pla balik sa uncap network may down at up side to, upside if malaki bandwidth nila at kaunti kayo sa isang area sobrang lakas network nyo.. but incase sa isang condo mga 100 kayo nag s-share heheh gapang talga. But i heard mag u-upgrade sila ng ngayon ng bandwith kaya magiging ok na sila... Galing ako dun kaya alam ko work around ng systema nila hehehe! Quote Link to comment
TaguroNakamura
Suggestion po sa mga internet user get the number of hours na down ang network or yung bellow sa desired na bandwith, tapos reimburse nyo sa kanila or ibawas sa fee nyo.. Quote Link to comment

Last Saturday night, down nanaman! I tried calling customer service several times, but, as expected, all I got were recordings saying that nobody's available to take my call. I tried they're SMS service, and supposedly someone would call me back within 20 mins. I texted 5 times, and (why am I not surprised?), nobody from Mydestiny called me that night. Kinabukasan, nag text ulit ako, at sa wakas, may tumawag, at aayusin daw sa hapon ang connection. HAPON! Ibang klase talaga to. Quote Link to comment
squall22
well that explains it isang condo pla kayo n puro destiny internet kya pla gumngapang ung conections sa inyo... well its good to hear maayus n ung conections mos a hapon report kna lng ulet about updates... buti nlng wla akong problema het destiny users ako i get a speed what i want with a few hassles in paranaque area Quote Link to comment
jobim
Guess what?? Our internet connection went down again yesterday. My wife called customer support at around noon yesterday, and syempre, as expected from Mydestiny, hanggang ngayon, di pa rin ayos. Before I left home this morning, wala paring internet. Wala talagang kwenta. Quote Link to comment
squall22
thats bad cause u got few options or no options at all good thing destiny doesnt have a 1 yr contract so u can disconect anytime u would like Quote Link to comment
jobim
Good for them walang contract kasi kung meron breach of contract na sila. The other day I wrote that my connection was down. Well, the connection was restored the next day. But I've been checking the bandwidth and I've been consistently getting only 20+kbps of bandwidth since then, until this morning. Ang galing no, mas mabagal pa sa dial-up. 512kbps plan to. Quote Link to comment
stinkfist
We subscribed to the same plan as yours 3 months back. Laging down and connection, Pansin ko lang tuwing 6pm onwards. Then one time nagkaproblema sa billing, blinock kami without any notice and we had to call and hire a technician to check the PC tapos kasalanan pala ng Destiny. Wala man lang silang ginawa. Basta binalik lang connection na super bagal. Last week we finally decided to discontinue the service hanggang nagyon active pa din yung line. I wont pay a single cent to those MF if they charge me for this. Ill try my luck with PLDT this time.
squall22
good luck bro sa pldt me 1 yr contract cla and fas as i know and i tested that mrami kren meencounter n problema jan just ask the internet shops my pldt dsl nmn klimitan dme ren clang reklmo Quote Link to comment
chancepassenger30
I've been a destiny subuscriber for 3 years already. pasama ng pasama talaga service nila. the only reason im staying with them is because hassle nang maglipat ng email, and mas mura kasi sila. pero regularly (as in monthly) sure ball na mag dodown yung internet namin. It has become so common na nasanay na ako at hindi na ako nagagalit. Dont even get me started on their tech support. walang kwenta, pati mga pumupunta sa bahay para mag ayos. mayayabang pa.
