niteowl
@ cruzer: agree ako kay doc4u, it's better to buy it here... although Nikon after sales service here for me sucks, compared to canons' heheheh, kesa naman sa HK, na once me problem, kailangan mo pa i ship papunta dun. The term pana and indian refers to the user and the camera. so when you say it's not in the pana, but in the indian, it means, it's the photographer and not the camera. @ terranboy: ok lang naman yan ser, it's a good walk around lens. hindi ka na papalit palit pa ng lens i guess. although mas maganda ata yung VRII version nito i think (meron na nga ba?) @ engronairam: nice pix ser! tequilasunrise
Patalastas: Most of you may be aware of my recent trip to Banaue. A week afterMon, Zer and myself made the trip last June and with the encouragementof friends, we launched a project called Black Pencil Project. We are definitely going back to bring more pencils and little schoolitems to the kids. We would be more than happy if you can help us bybringing pencils, sharpeners etc. on the day of our workshop. Anydonation, (in kind or cash), will surely bring a smile to the Ifugaochildren in Banaue. For more information, please visit Black Pencil Project athttp://www.blackpen cilproject. blogspot. com/ Ganda namang cause ito. I have been to Banaue last May, too, and I could see that the pencils will surely be a great gift to the kids of Banaue. Quote Link to comment

Jacknife
bakit ka mag up-grade? ano ba style/type ng shooting mo na 'di kaya ng 18-55? meron ka na bang flash? may built in flash yung unit ko, mahina pero, i rarely use yung flash kaya i decided to go for a lens muna. Yung 18-55 ko kasama ng rebel xti, its a good lens in general. Pero pag medyo madilimkahit anong compensate ko blurred or di sya ganoon ka clear. di naman pwede na lagi ka may dalang tripod. I was thinking na kumuha nung 18-55 na may IS pero sayang naman kasi may 18-55 na ko. and i want something more than 55 .. maraming times na may gusto ko kunana na di kaya ng 55mm. yung 28 to anything above 90 is what i think i need. Di ko plan maging professional, i just like taking pictures and isabit sa wall yung maganda kong kuha. Quote Link to comment

Thanks sa tip na multi shot pag low light, di ko na isip na pwede nga pala gawing ganun. I'll probably buy yung 18-28mm IS. baka nxt project ko na yung mas mabilis na lens. Another option na suggested sa akin is hintayin ko yung Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS. Im sure mas mahal to .. kung mga 6 months pa bago lumabas, may time pa ako para mag ipon. Thanks sa mga suggestions. Try ko na rin mag upload ng photo para mabigyan ng tips ng mga pro. Quote Link to comment

Try ko na rin mag upload ng photo para mabigyan ng tips ng mga pro. low light shooting condition takes shot with a slow shutter speed so continuous multiple shot technique will likely still be blurry specially if a tripod is not employed the key to a clear low light shot is STABILITY of the camera, if you are not using tripod try to brace the camera against a wall or employ some steadying technique by using improvised support like table, chair another key is APERTURE size, that is 3.5 - 5.6 for the full zoom range of ur camera lens, always set it to maximum aperture setting ISO setting also helps, so take multiple shot with different high ISO setting (e.g. 400, 800, 1600) since higher ISO setting is prone to noise it would also help to turn on the NOISE CONTROL setting of your camera Edited September 12, 2008 by dos8dos Quote Link to comment
Jacknife
to be honest, wala akong alam tungkol sa aperture. ang style ko ng pag kuha is more like trial and error. I tried to read things about slr cameras pero sad to say mas lalo na naguguluhan.yung mga low lights scenario, talagang naka brace ako .. minsan kahit sa wall nakadikit na yung camera to minimize yung movements. Below is a sampla ng lugar na di pwede tripod, madilim and chairs lang pwede mo gamitin para medyo maging stable. St Patrick's Cathedral F/3.5, exposure time 1/6, ISO 800, bias +1, 18mm any tips pag ganito yung place na madilim and di pwede tripod and bawal flash? Quote Link to comment

Di ko plan maging professional, i just like taking pictures and isabit sa wall yung maganda kong kuha.owning a flash doesnt mean you need to be a pro. external flash has totally different results than pop-up flash alone. i my self dont want to use flash when i 1st started dslr but alot of good shot oportunities i missed coz the lack of lighting. even using fast zoom lens in low light situations is not enough with out proper lighting. if you want to shoot low light, either use a fast lens with f/2 or faster. even f/2.8 zooms will struggle with out proper lighting, or just boost ISO. heres some low light shot comparison between w/ & w/o flash. 40D: ISO3200, f/2.8, 1/125s, NO FLASHhttp://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n94/engr_mariano/Bamboo/IMG_6087.jpg 40D: ISO320, f/2.8, 1/320s, w/ FLASHhttp://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n94/engr_mariano/Bamboo/IMG_5976.jpg btw, you might want to check my friend's gallery, he's only using 18-55 but with 580EXII. engronairam
mga sir. any feedback on the sony alpha series? replies are deeply appreciatedwhat i think about sony... body is packed with features coz of in-body IS (SSS=super steady shot), DR optimizer, etc... but performance wise, i will not recommend sony (photographer is not the issue, purely gear talk), sony's weakness is noise handling at higher ISO's. and the most obvious downside of sony is the price of their accessories. niteowl
@jacknife: dude, kahit ako, i only have a kit lens, and it can really be a pain, kung habol mo ung mga kuha na low lights. at first, i was tempted to buy a new lens para ma compensate ung mga kulang ko sa pagkukuha. buti na lang, some of my friends said that i could do more with a flash than with a lens. and i'm so glad i listened. now ang next project ko is to get me a prime lens for my low light shots, dahil like you've said, me mga instances na bawal ang flash. but at least i got to enjoy my kit lens to the max. hehehe hope this helps Quote Link to comment
