CivicVTi
@steiner Thanks bro, there is a sign at the Gundam display that touching or handling any of the models is prohibited. The people who inspect/admire the models seem to be aware though, I didn't see anybody act barbaric to touch/play with the display. :thumbsupsmiley: Quote Link to comment

smvillalon
We're still here... Alive and kicking... :thumbsupsmiley: The IPMS BAC guys are probably busy cataloguing and wrapping up after their successful exhibit at the Megamall. It is never easy to hold such an event. Congratulations to you guys! Wonderful exhibit. These events are what make our hobby worth staying in... I didn't see you there at the exhibit, Allan. I must have missed you. I was there on the last day around 2pm. Oh well... I can catch you another time I guess and we can talk shop then... As for the IPMS Manila guys, we're busy also preparing for our little contribution to the hobby. We're also setting up for our exhibit which will be held from December 9 through the 13th at the SM City Foodcourt. We are holding this exhibit side by side with our little friends at the Ateneo Hobby Craft Club. We aptly named the event CHRISTMAS IN SCALE (it's obvious) and we are inviting everyone to visit us on these dates. We'll be having group builds towards the weekend so the kids can see what scale modeling is really about. There will be a contest proper for the club members and the Ateneo Hobby Craft Club. Included in the event will be a historical exhibit of military tanks throughout it's existence from the earliest to the most modern. We hope you'll like it. We named this sub-exhibit "The Tank Story". This temporary tank exhibit was requested by the AFP Museum in Camp Aguinaldo a few months ago. The exhibit ran for 6 months at their museum and we are now showing it to the general public. Here's the poster we put up for the event: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/smvillalon/2009eventposter.jpg Just approach any of the IPMS Manila guys so we can take you around. Hope to see you guys there! Jun Edited December 2, 2009 by smvillalon Quote Link to comment
Dr_PepPeR
I think it's great that we have two scale modeling contests and exhibits that we can look forward to each year. I salute you guys (and gals) for promoting the hobby locally, which of course benefits solitary builders like me who can aspire to the talent and skill that the contests showcases. Another benefit is that it helps the local hobby shops keep in business, which means more kits and modeling supplies I can waste, err invest my money on. I do wish that the venues would rotate, having it sometime somewhere south of the Pasig river would be really nice. Quote Link to comment
smvillalon
We used to hold our events at the Alabang Town Center and Festival Malls however since most of the members are sort of like in the "middle" of the Metro, it was decided to hold it in the QC or Mandaluyong areas. Pero don't worry, we will see what we can do. A mall tour would really be nice kasi... We just haven't figured out the logistics surrounding it. Mahirap magbitbitnang models without damaging them eh... Jun Quote Link to comment

I remember going to one of IPMS BA's nationals held in Harrison Plaza, that's where I met Bert Anido himself. I understand that it really is difficult to handle built kits, so maybe they could stay on display for about a month? Quote Link to comment
